Great hotel with a great view
We always stay at this hotel on our visits to Istanbul. The rooms are the perfect size for a short stay. The hotel is close to many and various ferry terminals and it is right in the centre of Istanbul's nightlife. The new art museum is just a short walk away. The breakfast is probably one of the best hotel breakfasts we have had in many a year and the view from the dining room is superb. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening and the fish was so succulent and tasty. Our stay coincided with my birthday and the hotel left a lovely cake in our room on the day. You don't get that very often.

I am sorry I chose this hotel .
The rooms cleanliness is a serious disappointment. The carpet is old and stained as were the blankets. The bathroom and room were cleaned only superficially and amenities were not not replaced such as laundry bag or tissue. They have very limited staff for cleaning and service and often fail to respond unless you call the operator .

Novotel Karakoy
The hotel was great really clean and luxurious, i liked my room so much ( except for the view it was horrible) but the room was really comfy clean quiet and great place to take a rest. Also i liked the breakfast buffet i wish there were more Turkish food there however I really liked the breakfast and the view was insane great way to start your day, the only thing I didn’t like about the hotel is the front office staff they’re really act like they don’t have the time or energy for the guests and they refused to give us a late checkout at the time we requested

Excellent location , great rooms and superb food.
First time in Istanbul and this hotel was an excellent choice. Great rooms, quiet, clean and spacious. The breakfast in the roof top restaurant was excellent and the variety on offer was superb. We dined in the Murver Restaurant and would highly recommend as the service and quality of food was first class. Location is spot on to allow you to walk to everywhere (get your steps up) or to catch the tram which is pay wave , so super easy to use.

Great stay - scam taxi
The hotel is great, with clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff, a nice little sauna and steam room. The breakfast buffet is delicious and abundant!
Unfortunately the end of my stay left a very bad taste - I asked them to call a taxi for me in order to avoid scams. They did call one, and the driver promptly proceeded to try to scam me at the end of the ride ("can't show you the fare because I already turned the meter off, but trust me this perfectly round number is what it said"), with the hotel reception offering little assistance when I called them for help.
I understand if it's almost impossible to find an honest cab driver in the city, but I'd rather you tell me so than connect me with a scammer.

Very enjoyable stay
We stayed here for three nights at the end of our holiday in Turkiye and really enjoyed it. The hotel is pleasant and appealing and is very well located right at the Galataport which is very handy for cruises. The hotel is also just a few minutes' walk to the tram stop which will take you to the many and wonderful attractions the fabulous city of Istanbul has to offer.
The hotel staff were friendly and pretty helpful, our room was very comfortable and there are a variety of restaurants onsite - they are a little pricey however. The breakfast buffet was quoted to us a 32 euro per person which seems very expensive to us to be honest and we did not eat breakfast there. The cafe at the front of the restaurant has good quality food, but the service is very slow. However If you don't want to eat at the hotel restaurants, there are plenty of very good other options close by.
We appreciated the free 1 hour later check-out and the friendliness of the lady who serviced our room - she always had a friendly and welcoming smile. It's those little things that can make a hotel stay feel extra memorable.
There is a swimming pool onsite although we did not use it.
I would recommend this hotel.

Would not recommend
Awful experience in room 220 as woken up by nightclub out side hotel until 2 am. Paid for a bottle of champagne as a birthday celebration which was requested to be in room upon arrival which it wasn’t and had to call reception to get it. Several power cuts in room after using their iron and vastly overpriced for their facilities. No bar open in hotel downstairs area and separate facilities for spa area as not mixed it has to be male or female facilities so therefore cannot enjoy the spa experience in the sauna or steam room with your partner. All in all would not recommend

The staff are so attentive and helpful. The hotel lobby is gorgeous. The are is safe. The rooms are very clean. We stayed in the executive rooms where is was quite and away from the traffic noise. The beds are nice and firm. I am disappointed the shower was a high tub that you have to climb up and over to shower. But other than that I highly recommend staying here especially for those who are going on a cruise. The cruise ship is a 7 min walk away. I also loved that the elevators come fast and provide a smooth ride. The breakfast buffet included with our stay was amazing spread.

Novotel is a great place to stay if you want to be near everything. Lots of shops and restaurants as well. Old city is very accessible for sight seeing, shopping and dining around Galata, Taksim and Istiklal is very easy to do as well. Hotel was super clean, quiet for a nice restful sleep after a long day. Amenities were fabulous too! Will definitely stay here again when I visit Turkey again.

Better to check directly with the hotel, don't depends on app description
The location was excellent, and the environment was both clean and friendly. The staff demonstrated professionalism, and the availability of a luggage scale and wrapping service was appreciated.
However, the descriptions provided in the app did not fully align with the actual experience, which was somewhat surprising in a few instances. For example, the view from the room sometimes included a metal roof, and a makeup mirror was not available. Additionally, the photographs in the room service menu did not accurately represent the meals that were served.

Comfortable, friendly, and great location.
Great location almost on the seafront, very close to tram station, ferry station, Galata bridge and Pera. Coming by car is difficult as it is a one lane, one way road, and very congested. Relatively new, contemporary hotel with large lobby and comfortable rooms. Service very friendly and helpful. Food at the Murver restaurant very good with spectacular views of Golden Horn. The bar and restaurant downstairs also have very good food. All restaurants have great service.

Very child friendly
I was staying here with my family, with my 5yo and my 75yo father in law. I booked 2 rooms.
As Accor Diamond member we got an upgrade to a suite (Bosporus view), the view was not blocked all the time as some commentators suggest, quite the opposite.
Also the free breakfast perk was extended for the whole stay (not only weekend). Breakfast was great and not crowded. Views from the restaurant are amazing as it's on the rooftop of the hotel, and again out of 5 breakfasts we had only 2 time there was a cruise ship.
Service on the breakfast is exceptional. Mehmet will bring our drinks the moment he will see us arrive. He also tended that we have everything.
From colouring books for our son, food especially for kids, eggs every morning how I like it and so on.
The suite was 430 it was big enough, there were two sofa beds although we used only one. The views on the Bosporus were magnificent. Room was well cleaned every day and enough drinking water (in glass bottles) was provided. During weekends it gets loud outside, but if you come to sleep here you're in wrong part of Istanbul.
There was live music in the restaurant on the rooftop but also on the ground floor, very authentic. We can recommend listening to the beautiful women signing on the ground floor and their beautiful voice.
Check-in desk was very helpful too. About tips around Istanbul, exchange office or providing us with the late checkout. Thank you Abraham for the great service.
Both my wife and I did treatments in the spa. We did treatments with Olga from Uzbekistan and we can really recommend. Olga was very professional and all treatments we did, Turkish bath or the massage was so good that we wanted more. Always check with the spa as hotel guests can get discounts.
My son and I were also swimming in the pool, staff was always child friendly and will bring us water bottles.
All in all, very high rating from us. We believe this is a great property ideally located, with the great service that excels way beyond Novotel brand.

only the location is 5 stars the rest is merely 2 stars
apart from the location there is nothing 5 stars about this hotel and even their own staff officially told me that they are not at the same par as some of their competitors and suggested I try Shangri-La or Swisotel, not next time but actually for this stay!! I arrived with my family to find the room is not prepared for the 2 kids, the sofa beds are not prepared and reception staff did not even know if it was prepared or not! Not sure who's responsibility it was to inform house-keeping. Staff were more concerned that I refrain from having anything from the mini-bar otherwise I will have to pay for it, rather than ensuring the room was prepared. The room itself was small and not suitable for four people, but any attempts to upgrade was faced with a non-caring "we have nothing else to offer you". I paid extra for a sea-view room, but the view was blocked most of the time by giant Cruise-ships. The room was on the 5th floor (for the sea-view) but it was extremely noisy due to the lack of noise-cancelling windows and the ceiling and walls were not sound proof which means I heard everything in the corridors and in the busy noisy restaurant on top of the room.
I would only recommend this for lone travellers looking for a single night stay in a convenient location, otherwise avoid at all costs.

Short stay in Istanbul
We stayed at this hotel before , to be exact 2 years ago. Service has definitely improved, especially bell boys and reception, very polite and eager to help employees.
However the room itself was small, carpet had stains, lacking basic room necessities ( slippers, robes, shower accessories). Pillows and mattresses- terrible, need to be replaced. We had to call to ask for robes, slippers, and to be fair it was delivered within 5 mins. Compared to Novotel Moscow city (4* hotel) - it’s like night and day. The quality of room and service in Novotel Moscow City are much higher.

4th year in a row!
Me and my family have made it a tradition do end the summer with a trip to istanbul and therefore also Novotel Bosphorus! Excellent location, breakfast spread and lovely staff. I would like to specifically thank Noktam for excellent cleaning and being so flexible. The last couple of years we have also ran into Dilek who has offered nothing but exceptional service. Very well-located: perfect for those who need the port, close to the main attractions, Bosphorus ferries in all directions, plenty of restaurants, and a stroll along the brand-new luxury promenade with the best view of both the bridge and the Golden Horn.
But the hotel itself is as basic as it gets. No design, uncomfortable beds and pillows, and a very impractical sink.
Don’t book the “Bosphorus view” rooms — you can’t really see it, and you’ll get all the noise from the promenade and the street.
Rooms facing the inner courtyard are the best — simply because they’re quiet!
In short, it’s a great budget option if you’re not looking for anything fancy.

Excellent location and fabulous views from the 5th floor. The breakfast was elaborate and no complaints at all. Rooms are very comfortable and staff is great as well.
The biggest problem was there was extremely loud music until 3am every night, Very difficult to sleep especially with a small child. Hotel said it was other night club across the hotel and they didn't have any control over this. Stayed 3 nights, but hardly slept until after 3am!

Staff all very nice and attentive always asking to help. Only slight issue with my room was a very slowly draining shower. I didn’t inform desk as it wasn’t that big a deal but if you like long showers would’ve been a problem. I def return here if in Istanbul again

3.5 star hotel at best
This is not a five star hotel. The location is great, the rooftop restaurant is beautiful and the hotel rooms are nice. But our room smelled like cigarette smoke, the air conditioner did not work half of the time (even after having maintenance look at it) and the night club on the ground floor blasted music until 4:00am. Definitely do not stay here after a long flight if you’re looking to get a good night sleep! Our 6 year old daughter wanted to know when the “drums were going to stop beating outside” because the bass of the music was so loud.

Great hotel
Nice hotel just by waterfront and galata area.we had quiet room on the second floor which was quite big with a nice shower and big bathroom. Nice breakfast on rooftop which gives a great view but the food was great and much more than you can eat and loads of Turkish food like olives, salads, beard , special cheese and much more . pool is not big but depending on the time I enjoyed it alone and sauna is good. Bar by entrance on the street is quite nice. Area around is safe and sound, old town is 20 minute walk or a few tram stations away which is very close to the hotel. Loads of restaurants around but they are quite tourist. Overall a very pleasant stay. Good service from cleaning

OK, has its issues
For the price we got the rooms, it wasn't terrible. Rooms are spacious, clean, and well appointed. Location is good, and it is certainly a real hotel with amenities, not a small operation like most Istanbul places seem to be.
But for the price, and for what they are going for with the hotel (down the street from the Peninsula...), the service is so-so, and the noise issues folks have mentioned in other reviews are real. Our room on a lower, street facing floor had significant noise from the street restaurant until quite late. Our room on the top floor had noise until well after midnight from the rooftop restaurant- the nearly constant sound though the ceiling of people shifting their chairs on the floor upstairs. For a hotel at this price point, aspiring to what it does, this is unacceptable and makes for a bad night's sleep if you want to go to be early or don't have earplugs.
Also, the pillows are among the lumpiest and hardest I've ever encountered at any hotel, no less one like this.

While the location by the water and shopping/dining is good, the room was quite a bit below standards for a 5-star Novotel. Several things were not working or in disrepair, and the room smelled of smoke. The hotel also backs onto a busy street, so keep this in mind for lower floors as it was noisy. The pool was also under renovation, which is a shame as it was a major factor of us booking the place. I would say the room for the most part was below expectation based on the photos. The restaurant however, was as nice as the photos and we had a good experience there.
We ended up canceling our remaining 2 nights, and switching to a boutique hotel in the same neighborhood for a fraction of the price, which is simpler but cleaner, friendly, and has working a/c!

my experience was mixed. The “Superior” room I booked was somewhat disappointing, as it overlooked a noisy back street, which didn’t align with my expectations of a superior view. However, the hotel’s strengths comes through in other areas. The breakfast area on the top floor offered breathtaking views of the city, complemented by an excellent spread of food. The location is central and ideal for exploring Istanbul’s iconic sites. Despite some room for improvement, the hotel’s amenities and location make it a solid choice for travelers.

Recommended, great location
This was the perfect location in Istanbul for my visit this time. The check in staff was very friendly and kind. (Kubilay made my check out easier as well!) The breakfast is delicious and the rooftop is comfortable. The breakfast staff there (Mehmet!) is wonderful --the chefs, the supporting staff, cleaning staff, everyone is on point. The restaurant downstairs was also good with the staff. The Archer bistro is a fun spot for a cocktail or two at night. The servers are really professional. Ozhan was fun to talk to, hospitable and attentive. The housekeeping staff kept everything top notch. My only wish is that the bathrooms and rooms get a bit more updated with the countertops/panels and carpets. Great stay overrall!

The hotel was clean and service is great. The emplacement is really near to the center, two steps from Galataport and Karakoy. The breakfast was amazing, lot of choices and it is all fresh. Special Special thanks to Serkan and his team (he is the best chef ever).

Nice hotel amazing location
A very nice hotel with an amazing location, situated right in front of Galataport and easily accessible to all the main attractions. You can either walk or take public transportation with ease.
The rooms are a bit small for a 5-star hotel, but the service makes up for it. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I experienced a minor issue with the bathroom, but the engineering team promptly resolved it, which I truly appreciated.
The hotel also features a lovely restaurant with remarkable views and a good variety of food options, making dining there a great experience.
Overall, a pleasant stay in a fantastic location!

It's not a proper 5 star hotel. The rooms are small, staff is not friendly enough for the price. If you ask them for something during buffet breakfast they point their finger to the location.They saw us with all our bags leaving the room and no one offerred assistance with concierge. I'm not sure where to stay given it's almost a top tourist location but I wouldn't stay again.

Avoid - Above a club, bad staff, and airport far
Supposed to be one of the best in IST- far from. The overview is that this hotel has some of the worst service (not just in Istanbul, but generally). The front counter staff are often always too busy (not really busy, just looking busy) to acknowledge you. The Staff in the restaurant for breakfast give little to no care about you (often looking like they would rather be ANYWHERE else). The Staff in the lobby actually 'huff' when you ask them for a dink/service. Then top all this off, the backside of the hotel is built on a bar/pub. If you stay on floor 1 or 2 (maybe 3) you will be above an actual club. Heavy base and noise until 2/3am (weekends). Insane. When I asked staff (at 1am) why they would book me in a room above a club, I was told there was nothing they could do, full hotel (clearly not). Its an hour to get to the airport (or from), so the honest view is don't hit this hotel at all. Sure its clean enough but the staff and noise make it a no-go. For the price point, there are MUCH better hotels in this city you can stay at. Especially if you are on an overnight layover or just there for a weekend.

Nice location and rooms were OK, but staff was not always helpful and I was charged for the room by them even though I already paid beforehand. Will be a mess to sort out. Also I later found out the rate they charge for the airport shuttle is about three times the rate of using alternatives.

We only stayed one day since we were coming back from another country…Great location but the hotels require better cleaning of rooms, hallways.…we like the location since we had stayed at the JW Marriot in Bosphorus but this Novotel hotel does not compare at all with the Marriot property

We found the hotel to have an unforgettable rich diverse breakfast on the rooftop with a beautiful view over the Bosphorus.
We had a marvelous time overall in the hotel, I am really glad to have chosen this relaxing hotel in Istanbul.
