Did not like that I have to wait to get £50 back. I found it difficult to find my way around the hotel ????. I found it difficult to remember my room number. Im 66. I was up & down in the lift . The lift did not match the floors . It was difficult to find the spa & gym . Not well sighnposted .

When we booked a room we had asked for a double bed. Unfortunately we got 2 single beds pushed together. With 2 single duvets there was a gap in between the two beds. We had the most awful sleep and both ended up with sore backs.

Pleasant central belt getaway
We travelled down as a family, including our pet dog. The family room was generous and spacious providing ample space for all. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the banter with the breakfast staff, who gave us great advice on local sites to see.
While the staff were helpful and friendly, not all the staff were particularly attentive. We used the bell hop's trolley to move our bags ourselves even though there were reception staff watching us.

Pleasant, only purchased food disappointing.
For the money, the facilities were good, the staff were pleasant and there was a large selection of breakfast items.
The restaurant/bar food was pricey with a limited choice. No chicken choice other than a pie! The food was only lukewarm and the burger bun had been defrosted in the microwave (like cardboard). This was disappointing as the meal was expensive.

It was ok
The hotel is very nice and this wasn’t our first time staying there but this time I was a bit disappointed. We went there at 3:30 and the room wasn’t ready even thought the check in is 3pm. Then the rooms ( we had 2 rooms booked for other family members too) were cold we were with two small kids and the heater wasn’t working. The manager came to bring us heaters on which my husband found out that the plug was loose and then it started smelling. We needed to go and change it. All these issues stopped us to be able to explore and enjoy the time in the hotel. I am not sure if I would go there again. Totally different experience than our previous time
In the bathroom was a lot of mould which it looks like nobody goes and check the conditions of the rooms

The eating area and receiption area are stunning.

Lovely stay, but room defo wasn’t near good enough for what was paid.
Place was quite lovely views also.

Perfect location for rest and relaxation
Beautiful location, views are gorgeous! The relaxation room is exactly that, and our massages were fab. Food was delicious, service was great and really friendly, fantastic choose for a sisters spa overnight!

Fine hotel
This is a fine hotel in a really nice setting (with golf course). The personnel is very friendly. The organization around breakfast could be a bit better - our rooms were not registered properly and the focus on supplies could be better.

Location is good for us and close to family in the area. The premium associated with the hotel was nice for a change (normally use budget venue on main road through Cumbernauld). Nice vista from both room and breakfast restaurant.
Breakfast and evening meal service. The system for breakfast wasn't working, the buffet was not maintained well and managing guests fell apart each day which was sad to observe. In the evening the food service in the bar stopped quite early and the restaurant was also to busy to accommodate us as a couple.

Great place to stay.
Our ‘go to’ hotel when back visiting family in Scotland. The staff are great, the location is excellent, with direct access to the main roads to Stirling, Glasgow and Edinburgh. The leisure facilities are fantastic and the pool is a great way to unwind after a long drive.
Breakfast is amazing,( although as an exiled Scotsman, I would love to see square sausage on the menu!)
All in all, a really great place to stay.

big squishy bed and clean sheets.
room robes did not match (4x of us) and some showed signs of wear. English water and english tea bags as a standard seemed like a missed detail in a Scottish hotel. Breakfast spread was decent, though my mug was dirty.
I had booked with an approved early checkin on booking.com, reception staff did not like this and argued it, awkward!
Having a booked the Family Room for 4 people you'd think the bathroom would have a bit more room, couldn't even open the door with 1 person inside.
Getting to the "spa" was not nice, having to walk directly through the restaurant with your robes on...then having to go out to the public spa reception to sign-in, whats the room key for then..?
Staff had limited knowledge of local area events and locations and when 1 bar ran out of tequila we were told we could get our own from another hotel bar...odd no?

Great stay
What a great stay at the Westerwood. A lovely welcome. The king bed room was great. Everything was clean.
The food was lovely. Ate in the bar 1 evening. Breakfast had everything. Lovely fruit, pastries and cooked breakfast. I will return.

Accessible room good, fridge, iron and hair dryer in room.
Breakfast standard self service fare as to be expected, but was tasty and had a good selection on offer.
Very helpful staff when checking in and on the reception desk.
Didn't use the bar or spa facilities so cannot comment on them.

However being an accessible room should really have at least 1 240v socket near the bed as many people with accessibilty needs also use medical equipment (note reception did supply a 240v extension when asked).
Tiolet should also be a high seat type.

We had asked for an early check in, this was indicated in our reply to the query that this was possible and we could access our room from 12 noon.
On arrival at the hotel they said that this wasn’t possible, the room wasn’t really and an early check in isn’t guaranteed. This could have been communicated clearly in the email reply.
The check in staff were great and took our luggage so we could continue with our days plans.

Good but not worth the money. Dated and uncomfortable beds.
The staff were immensely friendly and approachable. I could not fault them for the service they provide. Also the gym is very well equipped.
I paid almost £2.5k for 5 rooms over a 3 night stay. Each room had a large double bed and one double sofa bed. The mattresses were uncomfortable and actually gave two of my family members a back ache. The rooms and hotel were clean and well kept but extremely dated. My bathroom had a shower and a bath tub. However the shower had a broken handle and the silicone was black in some spots. The hotel gives a feeling of being top of the range 20 years ago and is in urgent need of a refresh. You can tell the owners have not invested much into upkeep. I have to stress the staff from reception to room cleaning to management were amazing.

Dissapointed I would have been better staying at home.
The pool steam room and sauna was good the room was nice with plenty space.
We went for dinner we got burger and chips which cost £22.95 each. When they were served we noticed the food was cold.
The manager was informed he offers something else my partner got a fresh burger I declined.
We’ve been before and had similar issues with the food so I decided enough was enough.
The manager didn’t offer me a refund which was also disappointing the burgers and chips with two ice creams a pink gin and pint of lager came to £73 for a bar meal. I won’t be back to westerwood or any other Q hotel in the future very disappointed customer.

An absolute disgrace from start to finish—avoid this hotel!As a professional hotelier, I am completely appalled by the shocking lack of service, sub-standard hygiene, and toxic management culture at this property.Our nightmare started at check-in. Despite giving a 90-minute heads-up that we were waiting, our room wasn't ready at the promised 15:00 time. We were left ignored in the lobby for over 30 minutes while later arrivals were processed. When I politely asked for an update and a late check-out to compensate, the Duty Manager aggressively issued an ultimatum: "Do you want to check in or not?" To threaten an exhausted family with young children is completely unforgivable.
When we were finally allowed in (after waiting an extra 10 minutes in the corridor for housekeeping), the room was a filthy health hazard. It smelled like a public toilet, had mouldy windows, cobwebs, rusted appliances, broken furniture, holes in the towels, and drink stains on the walls.
The facilities are equally neglected; the pool area was dangerously slippery and unclean with zero staff supervision. To top it off, breakfast at 09:00 was an embarrassment. The staff were cold and hostile, refused to let us sit at empty window tables, and the buffet was completely depleted. When I asked for food, I was told "what's there is there," and staff only replenished it after I challenged them.
This place is an absolute failure of leadership, basic hospitality, and hygiene. Do not waste your money here.

Not worth the money!
I received vouchers for a spa day so decided to book an overnight stay to treat my mum for her birthday. The spa day was excellent, the hotel stay was very poor. I did write to the hotel regarding the issues we had nearly 2 weeks ago now (they were plentiful!) but so far nobody has had the good grace to contact me!
Very expensive and definitely not worth the money.

Great food lovely stay.
Really clean big room. Food was fantastic, had the fillet and caesar salad. Both were delicious. Use the deals they offer makes things cheaper and they are well worth the money. Only downside was the gas for the drinks was down so only Madri was available but the other drinks were fine. Great place and will be coming back.

great up until breakfast
Everything on our spa break was great and therapists should all be commended, but as we had the last slot of the day, our relaxation lounge was soiled by the staff clearing up and chatting to each other at the end of three shifts. Breakfast was a shambles. Slow restocking of buffet in dribs and drabs so not possible to make a complete plate. Hardly any fruit. Broken coffee machine, lack of plates and cups, some paper cups even being used at tables, minimal staff

Overpriced, I’ve had better stays in a travel lodge
I like the thought of it being a spa hotel, but when we got to the spa the pool was packed with kids ( I don’t mind kids but not at spa stay.
When we arrive there was 3 people in the reception & 2 of them were seeing to one customer and left us standing for quite some time, I felt this was very poor. Also dinner reservations were late at night so we ate in the bar which we didn’t mind but the food was lukewarm and similto what you’d find in a weatherspoons. Our room temperature was so warm we couldn’t sleep we actually checked out at 7 am not even staying for breakfast.

May Break
We were travelling with 3 young granddaughters, so booked a suite, which was excellent - large lounge with 2 double sofa beds, plus separate bedroom. Room was nicely decorated, and we all really liked it, particularly the nice views over the golf course. Breakfast was excellent, with the buffet catering for the kids just as well as the adults. Kids loved the pool.

A good stay - away from Glasgow but not that far either :)
A superb and well maintained hotel. Overall, the room quality and hotel amenities were excellent. Restaurant and Bar area were good. Just a let down that food stops at 9, but that's pretty much everywhere in Scotland.
Breakfast was very good and had plenty of variety and fresh.
Swimming pool and Spa were good - above average.

Comfortable Stay with Friendly Staff, but Scope for Improvement
The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. However, there are a few areas where improvements could be made.
The kettle setup feels cramped, as it is placed on a shallow shelf, and the mugs are quite bulky and not in keeping with the hotel’s price point. While most areas were very clean, I did find a long dark hair in the shower. It was also lovely to have the option of swimming before breakfast, but the pool appears a little tired, with several missing tiles and what looked like a visible tide mark that could be cleaner.
I also understand that when I stayed it was unusually hot for Scotland however only being able to open the window a crack meant the room was very hot (with no fan or air conditioning)
