The Hotel du Plat Etain is a pleasant gem in the 3rd which we would gladly stay again.
The hotel is in very close proximity to the metro station. We received instructions a day or two before our arrival on how to get to the hotel from the metro and they were very clear and concise. There are many restaurants close by as well as bakeries and markets. Our room was very clean. Beds were comfortable. The AC worked perfectly and was a welcome relief each day we returned from our daily adventures. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. We did not to take the breakfast option so I cannot comment on that aspect, however, there is a coffee machine in the room which I took advantage of each morning. My daughter and I felt very safe in the area. We were often out at night returning from dinner in the area as late as 10:30pm and never had any issues.
It would have been nice to have a refrigerator in the room that we could have full use of. The current fridge in the room is a minibar so we had to squeeze our water and juice bottles around the minibar items.

conveniently located and very clean!
the room was very clean! hotel cleaning staff were super nice and very attentive to our room. our clothes were even folded. the hotel is in a great location in the marais, so shops are very easy to access. it’s also conveniently located next to the strasbourg metro stop which was very helpful during our stay. 10/10!

Pleasant location with a needed repairing toilet
The location and the reception are the best, also the air condition and the spacious room, also the convenient store is around the corner so it’s really pleasant stay.
The toilet is keep dripping, so we can’t stop hearing the water raoring.

A gem of a hotel: well located, great service and excellent value
Jimmy was amazing and most accommodating. He supplied up with maps and orientation to the major attractions and offered assistance with many things to make our stay pleasant and easy. The room was well appointed, clean and comfortable with lift access upstairs which helped with luggage. The breakfast was wonderful and great value. The area was vibrant and interesting and the hotel close to the metro and only a reasonable uber/cab ride from all major attractions. It is close enough to walk for those who enjoy walking the streets, as we did on our first evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.
There was a problem with the airport transfer we booked through reception. The driver refused to park near the hotel due to the one way streets. In the end we cancelled the service and booked an Uber at the last minute which was very frustrating and a disappointing end to an otherwise great stay.

All in all, this was a great hotel for me and my family. We would stay here again.
Even though we arrived in Paris in the middle of a terrible heat wave, the room we had (which faced north) was comfortable. To be clear, the
A/C could not make the room icy, but it kept the room cool for us to be able to hang out and sleep without a problem. I also want to compliment the front desk and breakfast staff. In particular, Louis (Luis) and Fatima at the front desk were very helpful and friendly to us. The hotel is very close to a Metro stop.
If you are looking for a hotel in a quaint Parisian neighborhood, this is not it. That being said, the neighborhood is fine and it is bustling and the Metro takes you where you need to go.

Great Hotel
We had a wonderful stay here. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was bigger than we expected for a European hotel. The breakfast is the best I've ever seen offered by a hotel and it's well looked after. We never had an issue with the breakfast room being crowded. It's convenient to the metro and some buses.

best 3 star hotel in Paris
The highest recommendation for this place, where we truly enjoyed an excellent stay. Initially we were hesitant to reserve because this neighborhood used to be sketchy some decades ago, but upon arrival found that all was well. It’s on a quiet side street, but just half a block from the Grands Boulevards, which are always quite lively and fun. The southbound 38 bus is right outside the hotel, and the metro station is a two-minute walk. The room was small, as is usual in Paris, but we had everything we needed: immaculate private bathroom with shower, room safe, coffee /tea maker with capsules, and mini-bar (not exactly a fridge but similar). There is even a smart bathroom mirror. Madame Fatima was very accommodating and gave us a quiet room on the courtyard. Other guests in the hotel are courteous, so during a stay of 10 nights we did not experience noise problems; we slept quite well. Everything was kept scrupulously clean. Employees were all very professional, gracious and pleasant. A special shout out to Louis Philippe, and everyone else was great but we don't know their names. We didn’t have breakfast, but took a peek at the buffet, which had the offerings one would expect in Paris in a hotel of this caliber. Le Figaro and the International New York Times is available each day in the lobby. We’ve visited Paris many times and this is the best hotel experience we’ve ever had.

My home in Paris
Perfect cozy hotel! The room was super clean. Great shower. Bad and pillow were extremely comfortable, and breakfast was delicious and had many choices. But above all are the extremely welcoming, helpful and professional staff! They are the heart of this hotel! This is definitely my hotel for next visits in Paris.

The Spider Wasn't the Only Problem
The reception staff were mostly friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout my stay. The hotel is conveniently located close to the metro. Although some locals described the surrounding area as less safe, I experienced no issues. The breakfast was alright, though I generally preferred the excellent boulangeries nearby.
The management appears to believe that dealing with insects in guest rooms is somehow the guest's responsibility.
On my last day, a spider found its way into my room. When I reported it, the manager first asked where I was from. After I said the UK, he responded by asking whether we don't have spiders there, which seemed to be his way of suggesting I should simply accept the situation.
The receptionist then informed me how "lucky" I was that the manager happened to be present, as he would not normally be able to leave his desk. I replied that I had never paid for spiders to be included with the room, to which the manager promptly responded that neither had they. What a way to treat a guest.
The receptionist eventually accompanied me back to the room to remove the spider, which was roughly 1.5 inches across. Unfortunately, by that point it had disappeared and we were unable to find it. Needless to say, sharing a room with an unaccounted-for spider didn't make for the most comfortable night's sleep.
The issue wasn't the spider itself; these things happen. What concerned me was the dismissive attitude towards a reasonable guest complaint. If that's the response to insects being found in a room, it doesn't inspire much confidence in how other hygiene-related matters are handled.
The room itself was also small. I booked a double room and, at 5'9", I only just fit the length of the bed. Thankfully I was travelling alone, it would be a very cramped for two people.
Overall, it was an ok stay with a good location and generally pleasant staff, but the manager's poor attitude and the small rooms, relative to other Parisian hotels, mean I do not recommend it and won't be staying here again.

Very enjoyable stay at hotel.
The staff was excellent. Emailed before we got there. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast and a great price for a hotel. Bathroom was spotless. Had air conditioning ( we were there during heat wave). Close to 3 metro lines so easy to get around.
My only complaint was the ice machine. They only had 2 small ones and most of the time they were empty. It only mattered because it was so hot it would have been nice to put in our water bottles. Also would have liked double glazed windows. Most nights weren’t too noisy but weekends were a bit.

good choice for the 3rd arrondissement with great staff!
A nice hotel tucked into the 3rd arrondissement. One small caveat: there's a street nearby that didn't feel particularly welcoming, with groups of people loitering around — but once you reach Rue Saint-Martin, you're exactly where you want to be, just 10 minutes from the heart of Le Marais. The staff was incredible, going out of their way to make sure we felt comfortable and safe throughout our stay. The room was a decent size by Paris standards, though the air conditioning didn't run consistently overnight — we woke up a few times to find the room quite warm. The pillows look nice but weren't the most comfortable. Overall, a solid choice in a great location, with a few things that could be improved.

I’m very pleased with my staying in Hotel du Plat d’Etain! Everything was perfect! The staff is extremely helpful and welcoming; the room was very clean and had a comfortable bed; the room and bedroom size fitted very well for me; the breakfast was always perfect, with a good variety and delicious food! There are many several coffee shops and restaurants near the hotel, as well as supermarket and laundry! Also, there is a metro station less than 1 minute walking from the hotel! Overall, I strongly recommend the hotel for anyone who goes to Paris!

Nice spacious room. Big comfy bed and a great bathroom. Good coffee.
Breakfast is wonderful - delicious selection of very good quality food. Worth it for the jam alone!
The lift is tiny but this is understandable in an older building.
We were told by some people that the area is less safe than others due to street crime but we saw no evidence of this and felt safe. There was always a security guard in reception.
Our experience of the airport shuttle was not great. This is not the hotel's fault but the driver was not very confident or safe.

We liked this hotel and neighborhood a lot. There are a lot of delicious ethnic restaurants.
Beds were great, room was quiet, breakfast was generous and top quality.
Neighborhood is genuine—not touristic.
Neighborhood is generally safe and interesting, with the canal nearby. Lots of young people. Some evidence of shuttered businesses on some streets. Other streets are bustling.

Great location and good value!
Very nice hotel. The staff were excellent and very helpful. Our room had a queen bed that was super comfortable. The pillows were a little too soft for our taste. We had their breakfast buffet 3 times and it was good and convenient. The location was good and very close to the metro that we used very often. There were great restaurants and bakeries within walking distance. It was very clean and quiet at night. For the value we’d stay there again.

Nice hotel, didn’t appreciate the pressure to book an internal transfer to the airport.
Central, very close to the metro. The room that we were given was very big and spacious.
No kettle to make tea in the room. Also we were bombarded by the check in man to book a transfer minibus which were weren’t sure about and he was quite abrupt when we told him we weren’t sure and wanted to decide later, which wasn’t an option. He also mentioned that we would have to catch a bus and train to the airport when actually it was a short walk and one direct train.

Das Zimmer ist gut eingerichtet u.a. mit Kaffeemaschine und Zubehör, bequemes Bett sowie modernes Badezimmer
mit Dusche.
Es gab nichts auszusetzen.

Hotel en una excelente zona de Paris para acudir a algún espectáculo (muy cerca de Republique). Metro casi en la puerta y muchos restaurantes, cafeterías o lugares para tomar una copa. Fantástico para ir en pareja.

Excellente communication avant l'arrivée, accueil très chaleureux et très professionnel (merci à la jeune femme de l'accueil, si sympathique!)l, chambre spacieuse, impeccable et au calme. Le service a été irréprochable tout au long de mon séjour. Le petit-déjeuner était tout simplement délicieux (et encore mieux que ça!), avec des produits d'excellente qualité et beaucoup de choix. Tout était parfait.
Je recommande vivement cet hôtel et j'y reviendrai avec grand plaisir !

An exceptional stay! Excellent communication, a wonderfully warm and highly professional welcome, and an immaculate, peaceful room. The service was outstanding throughout my stay. The breakfast was simply delicious (it was awesome!), with excellent products and great variety. Everything was perfect.
I highly recommend this hotel and would be delighted to return!

My wife and I chose this hotel based on reviews and the location, as our son lives in the neighborhood. What a fantastic choice we made. Every single member of the staff that we had contact with was kind, cordial and very helpful. The room we had was small (as expected) but was immaculately clean, the linens/towels/pillows were in excellent condition. The shower and bathroom were perfect. Great TV. Safe in the room was nice. When we booked we added daily breakfast and what a smart choice that was. Very good breakfast was served every morning. Lots of choices of pastries/breads/fruits/meats/yogurt/juices and a great coffee machine. The gentleman who worked in the breakfast area was particularly on top of things and very helpful.
Oh, and the air conditioning....the 6 days were stayed there were very hot days. Most places (like almost none) have A/C. This motel does. It was an absolute game changer after to hot/sweaty day out seeing the sights, to come back to a clean, comfy, cool room was the perfect end of the day.
Close to lots of restaurants (seems like everyplace in Paris is close to a lot of restaurants), close to Metro stops. Really a great location.

Vicino alla stazione della metro. La zona non è delle migliori la sera ma fino alle 22 si può uscire tranquillamente.
Gestione perfetta della struttura e grande disponibilità anche all'uso del deposito bagagli.
Il wi-fi in camera è l'unica cosa migliorabile, un pò lento ed instabile.

La belleza de Francia en un espacio muy acogedor.
El personal muy amable. Las habitaciones siempre muy limpias. El desayuno es espectacular ????. Zona muy segura y cercana para hacer buenas caminatas.
Solo para mejorar condiciones de seguridad al salir de la tina de baño; no hay agarraderas y es muy alto para salirte solo.

We ate at several restaurants in the area and went back to a few twice. Again, the staff was very present and helpful.
The front desk staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about transportation around the city. The front desk staff took care of sending a few packages home for a reasonable fee.
I'd have preferred it to have been closer to the places I wanted to go, however, I would stay there again because it was a wonderful experience. The breakfast was p very French and staff was always present to clean up after everyone.

Great hotel for a busy overnight trip to Paris - great transport connections
The hotel is really well situated close to a metro station that has multiple metro lines. Very close to Gare Du Nord and Gare de L'Est. We had a quad room which had 4 single beds, a bid bathroom with 2 sinks and lots of towels. Bonus is that the aircon worked well, and the room overlooked a square so we all slept well. They also have a good luggage storage room with a coded door and a downstairs loo, so perfect to pick up luggage on the way back to the Eurostar.
Really would struggle to complain about the experience. Even the water pressure was good in the shower!
