Beautiful resort but overall underwhelming
This resort probably has the best buffet food I’ve had at an all inclusive. I loved the fresh seafood option daily and the pasta station. Sunset Strip had great meat options and the resort also offers shisha. There is access to food at every time of the day and a good variety. The room was cleaned daily and the housekeeping staff was pleasant. I stayed in a swim-out room and the pool area was beautiful; great water temperature. All of the pools here are actually pretty warm so I appreciated that.
The beach was great.
The alcohol here is heavily watered down. You can consume 30 drinks and you will not feel a thing. Catch, one of the restaurants, was my least favorite food experience. The service was extremely slow and the food was bland.
The entertainment here is lacking compared to other resorts. Due to the World Cup, some of the evening performances were replaced with a big screen to watch the games, which I did not appreciate. The movie theatre also showed soccer every single evening and no movies.
The pool entertainment was mediocre as well. For example, they offered bingo but there was only enough supplies for maybe 12 people to play. Poor engagement.
We stayed on the adult side where we were directed to a Marriot sales employee while we waited for our room to be available. I’m not exactly sure what she was trying to sell but we received multiple texts a day trying to force us to attend whatever presentation, similar to a timeshare, so she could earn her commission. Each time we declined she tried to guilt us into attending this presentation.
Sunset Strip has great meat options but the sides were terrible. Both the Mac and cheese and creamed spinach were like soup.

El hotel es bonito pero...
El río lento muy divertido, aunque de 4 motores para la corriente sólo hubieron 1 o 2 prendidos, estaría mucho mejor con todos encendidos. La comida estuvo bien, hubieron algunas cosas que estuvieron excelentes. Los bartenders y la mayoría de meseros fueron muy amables. El servicio de concierge probablemente lo mejor de la estancia, atendieron todas las solicitudes que hicimos por la app, aunque claro, tardan un poco. El minigolf súper divertido. Se aprecia que sigan teniendo música en vivo en la alberca. La playa es muy bella pero eso es algo que tienen todos los hoteles de la zona. Casi nada de zargaso aún cuando es temporada.
Hubieron varios detalles durante la estancia. Empezando por la habitación. Se entiende que hay un problema con la húmedad porque toda la riviera tiene un problema con la humedad, y sobre todo en Costa Mujeres que es en medio del mangle, el olor y las manchas de la pared es algo que yo ya esperaba encontrar, pero en nuestra habitación la puerta no cerraba por completo, probablemente porque la humedad ha inflado la madera del marco. No quisimos tomarnos el tiempo de pedir un cambio de habitación porque el seguro adicional por dentro para nosotros fue suficiente, pero es verdad que estando fuera de la habitación cualquiera podría haber entrado al cuarto sólo empujando la puerta. La regadera estaba bastante tapada, probablemente de sarro, funcionaba lo suficiente para no ser un inconveniente pero deberían revisarlas y limpiarlas seguido, la regadera de mano cuando la abrí salió el agua naranja, seguro está llena de oxido por el desuso, no la quise usar para nada por eso. La plancha de vapor que estaba en la habitación no servía, tuvimos que pedir una normal y, como tardó en llegar, la primera noche no pudimos planchar nuestra ropa para la cena.
Luego, la alberca para adultos. Los 4 días que estuvimos la alberca estaba sucia de una especie de espuma amarilla que se acumula en las esquinas de la alberca, es evidente que es un problema recurrente porque el azulejo está manchado de amarillo en las esquinas, a mí me dio mucho asco y no entré a esa alberca por eso.
Tuvimos varios incidentes en los restaurantes del área de adultos. En ambos durante el desayuno tardaron mucho en atender, en Braza nos dieron la carne de res cruda en 2 ocasiones (una en el desayuno y otra en la cena) en Catch el último día llegamos a comer cerca del horario de cierre y tardaron 2 horas en entregarnos la comida, al grado que apagaron hasta el aire del lugar cuando no era nuestra culpa que tardaran tanto, en esa ocasión también los meseros fueron groseros, probablemente poruqe ya estaban apurados.

The food was really bad. We came to Mexico expecting to have good Mexican food, but we found nachos that were worse than gas station nachos, dry tacos, and there is only one location on site that has chips and guacamole as an option. The quality of all of the restaurants is very low; most dry, flavorless, or had gnats or hair in it.

When we arrived got in our room the bathroom was not clean very good seem that it was a Rush job.
The night before leaving our reservation for our transportation got canceled by booking.com leaving us in bind to get transportation back to the airport that was not good booking.com side and receiving my money back I haven’t.. use booking.com to much to be done like this.

Días de relax en un paraíso
El hotel superó todas nuestras expectativas: una ubicación fantástica cerca del aeropuerto y un entorno paradisíaco que hizo que nuestra estancia fuera perfecta.
El personal fue absolutamente increíble, siempre atento en cada restaurante y cada bar; realmente nos hicieron sentir cuidados en todo momento.
La playa estaba impecable y la habitación era amplia y muy cómoda, ideal para desconectar y disfrutar del paraíso de Cancún.
Nos vamos muy contentos y con ganas de volver, porque encontrar un lugar donde se combina buen servicio, confort y un entorno espectacular no es fácil.

El servicio pésimo del personal, mala organización, si te dan una reservation para las 930 y te toman la orden a las 10 , te sirven a las 1030 no te pueden estar corriendo a las 1045 con la excusa de que tienen que tener cerrado y limpio a las 11 pm
Para el desayuno lo dejan de servir a las 11 pero a las 1045 ya no te dejan entrar. Siendo que estabamos pagando botellas que tenian a la venta fuera del menu de todo Incluido.
En el servibar del cuarto te dejan 2 cervezas por dia y como 6 refrescos.
La cafeteria tenia a 1 empleado para filas de 30 minutos.

My husband and I had a great time here. The resort was clean and the staff was amazing. Everyone was so accommodating to us. We were there for our anniversary so they comped a few things for us and gave us specials on things.
The food was pretty good. The all day buffet was decent. We only ate there for breakfast but they had a good variety of things. We made reservations at different restaurants every night for dinner. The steak house was our least favorite and the Brazilian restaurant was by far our favorite. The steak house wasn’t terrible but we just weren’t super impressed with it.
My only complaint would be that it was very noisy late at night but I think that had a lot to do with where our room was. We weren’t far from the main area with the restaurants and entertainment area and we were also right next to an elevator on the main floor. When we went to bed early a couple of nights it would be very loud outside until late. Thankfully my husband and I are both sound sleepers so it didn’t affect us too much. Just more of an inconvenience than anything.

Would never stay here again.
The hotel was nice and clean. The staff was nice. Check in and out was quick and efficient. The views was beautiful and so was our swim out pool.
tooooo many mosquitos and bugs - pool closed too early to be an adult resort - food choices was not good - there should have been food available 24/7 - I came to Mexico and there wasn't a lot of mexican food at all!!!!!! There wasn't a lot of things to do on the resort - they didn't do a good job explaining the excursions and fun things to do.

You have to pay for certain drinks. If they run out of a certain spirit, they do not replenish it immediately. I had to wait two days for a simple Johnny Walker Red label to be restocked in the bar next to the lobby. In most locations near the pools, mineral water is not from a machine and refrigerated, but from warm, gasless bottles. Although the service and ambiance are good, you have to wait a long time for specialty foods and reserve well in advance, rather than being first-come, first-served and joining a waiting list, as in other hotels. Buffette is 5/10 with plenty of variations of zuccini. Very often, I have to wait in line to enter. Rooms with pools are very nice, but if you get two, even when they are continuous, they do not communicate through a door and have to either leave the room or go around the pool to visit your other room.

The unprofessionalism of this property started the moment we walked in. No one came to greet us so i walked over to the main lobby check in. After waiting in line i was then told to go to another line to wait to check in for STAR class members. Of all the things the "STAR" class upgrade was supposed to provide, we got a restocked fridge and that was it. Two days in a row they couldn't make a reservation for us. I had to call two days in a row just to get the room cleaned and changed sheets. Every where we went we were told "No" or had to pay even more for simple things. our group was laughing that their favorite word is "No". Even conversing with the staff was unenjoyable. Nobody seemed happy to take care of you and it was a hassle getting anything taken care of. I brought money to tip everywhere i went but by the end of any interaction, I felt like i didn't want to give money for mediocre service. The front lobby bar was the only area i was greeted a with a smile and great service. I have been to 7 other All-inclusive resorts in Mexico and this was by far the worst all around. I have never felt so ready to leave and wasted so much money.

This resort is amazing. It is the perfect size and when they say adult only section they mean it. You are nicely secluded and thw only.time you see children is when you have dinner unless toi are earing at one.of the asult only restaurants. We did Star Class and out butler was amazing Angel. He checked in every morning with a list of activites and where we would like to go to dinner. Definitely will be back

The overall resort is over priced for what you’re provided. Rooms are not clean, bed sheets and towels have visible stains. The food is less than average in the buffet, the restaurants where many people could not even get reservations were overrated. They seem to always have things out of stock at all bars. The menus for restaurants and bars via the app are incorrect as staff say they cannot make many things shown. When I first entered my room, there was an open pin on the washroom floor and a hole in one of the towels I picked up to shower with. I would not recommend any of their raw bar selections as I got sick after eating 1. I have diarrhea and committing for 2.5 days straight. The staff cater primarily to white Americans and actually have a preference of locals and those who speak Spanish. I had several occasions where staff, especially bar staff were rude and dismissive. One even telling me that the bar was closed on my second day there but serving other patrons who were white. For context, I am a brown Canadian. I found it odd that bars closed at 7 for the pools and then only in the main area until maybe midnight. The entertainment was lacking and the thought that I paid for an adults only vacation but was surrounded by families and children made no sense. The only adult area was 1 pool, 2 restaurants and my room. The building I was attached to even had families. The only positive was that I paid extra for a swim out room. I would not go back or recommend this resort.

Overall, excellent vacation. It was me, my wife, our 18yr old and 21yr old. They said it was a great vacation, always something to do from games, to cinema movies, nightclub, lazy river, etc.. The resort is large and beautiful. The pools were great but get there early in the morning to reserve chairs. The daily entertainment by the adult pool can be improved to be more "adult centric" and the music can be improved by allowing requests so its not the same type of music that some people may not enjoy... keep it diverse. A few areas of improvement; how can the pool bar run out of Captain Morgan when its at other bars in the resort? You need to ensure its stocked for your customers. The other is the drinks, some bars do a good margarita and expresso martini (adult checkin bar) and others are terrible at making drinks (martini bar). The restaurants were great. The sunset strip steakhouse, gusto italian and asian were our favorites. The bartenders and adult scene pool workers were all excellent at helping us enjoy our stay.
The star of our week was our Expedia rep, Mauricio. He helped us book restaurants during the week, get some issues fixed and was our go-to person. He deserves a raise!! You dont need star class when you have Mauricio! We were treated like VIPS!!!

Food choices were limited. The bed was too soft. Need a firmer mattress. The shower had hot water once out of the 6 days I was there. The staff act like they couldn’t accommodate you. I asked for a can ginger ale four times and was given it twice with the comment “this is the last one”. Even the person who brings snacks act like he was doing a favor by giving me 2 bags of chips. Sometimes the staff at SolCal wouldn’t come back to the table to ask if we would like another drink even after calling them over. They act like you’re bothering them for doing their job. This was the worst service I’ve encountered and it was rampant in all areas of the resort including the pool area and I’ve traveled a lot. I would never stay here or recommend this resort, it sucked.

I recently stayed at Planet Hollywood Cancun and had a mixed experience. While the staff was truly amazing—always friendly and eager to help—the overall quality of our stay was disappointing due to several issues.
Unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations and, to our dismay, it made us feel quite unwell. This was a major letdown, as we were looking forward to enjoying the dining options.
Additionally, the condition of our room was concerning. It felt very run down, with noticeable mold in the shower and even little worms emerging from the cracks. To make matters worse, we found flies in the restroom, which added to the unpleasant atmosphere. The room also had a persistent mildew smell that made our stay uncomfortable.
Overall, while the staff's service was commendable, the poor food quality and the state of the accommodations left much to be desired. I hope the management addresses these issues for future guests.

Planet Hollywood was nice but there was some things that needed addressed. We had a swim out suite, water was extremely low, jets didn’t work so water was dirty. The app needs updated, we reserved a dinner and restaurant was closed, no where else to eat. Pools need to be opened later than 7:00 pm. Need to spray mosquito repellent so you can enjoy evening shows. Hooka doesn’t need to be smoked and offered in main family section. Check in sales pitch should be optional, not a rigged sales speech.
Lazy River was nice, clean and pleasant. Restaurants that we could try were good Rooms were clean, staff was very nice. I would recommend this resort for a college spring break, not a family or laid back married couple vacation.

We stayed at the adult scene and because we booked with Expedia we were treated like royalty. We had no idea that Planet Hollywood was partnered with Expedia. We booked with Expedia for the best rate. There is a Star Class upgrade you can purchase but was not needed with the Expedia treatment.
The property is laid out well but nothing is truly right on the beach. The seaweed was bad but evidently better than it had been. The beach was a total no go for us with the seaweed. The pool area was awesome! Huge and several on the property. Lazy river on family side was super nice with a swim up bar!
The dinner reservations were made by our check in girl, Marla. We were able to text with her on the WhatsApp.
We enjoyed a very relaxing week and did not do the spa, excursions or beach. You will need to save a chair early. We were out by 6:45 to claim ours. We deal with that wherever we go, cruising especially if you want shade. Dial “0” on your phone if you need anything and you’ll have it in your room within a few minutes. We saw people complain about umbrellas, next day umbrellas were delivered. We heard people complain about the swim up room water levels, next day they were being filled. The service was fabulous, the food was very good but do not expect gourmet. It was very good and we loved the SoCal buffet.
The hotel addressed the seaweed and that wasn’t their fault. Only negative is that hotel is very worn for only 4 years old. But they seem to be addressing items daily.

The restaurants and buffet were very delicious.
Entertainment was very good. Plenty of activities. Pools clean and very big. Lazy River was my favorite! People were very nice and attentive. Jacqueline at check in was very courteous and knowledgeable, smooth check in and check out, Mayra the Buttler was always attentive to our needs. Bars and drinks were always on point w delicious and refreshing drinks. Can’t wait to go back!

The Hotel has a nice concept, however I do find the activities very limited and not everything is included.
I came with 10 persons and we had two “Junior Suite -Swim Outs” at the Adult Scene. As a customer of the Adult Scene, the hotel stated that you would have preference for dining etc.. I thought the housekeepers were the most customer-friendly oriented at this hotel. The staff take no accountability for the terrible communication guest services has with the restaurants and check-in department! Firstly, they connected the wrong rooms in the system, we arranged dining times on the first day and every restaurant rejected us because they had not seen the agreement we made with guest services. The experienced staff as so inhumane, because they push all the complex cases on trainees…..knowing that they have little knowledge to help us. Lastly, the staff only blamed other departments without finding a proper solution to our problems! To top it off, they weren’t even kind enough to give us some sort of compensation. Never again am I going to the Hotel. Terrible experience and due to their lack of communication I almost missed my flight! Because the spa-attendant wounded my beard and hair, which I made a complaint about and the staff never even made a report about it!

Check in was excellent. Staff was warm and welcoming. Because we booked through Expedia we were assigned a personal assistant. The experience with the personal assistant was not great. He assured us he could take care of reservations at the restaurants. Communication was lacking with multiple check ins on our part to confirm. The first night we couldn’t get in where we wanted which was fine and we were able to get in at the Steakhouse late. From there we requested to make all our reservations in advance for the rest of our trip. What we were unaware of and told later is that the assistants don’t have access to the Planet Hollywood app to make the reservations and instead have to go through a much more complicated process that’s really not fair to them. Our problem was mainly the lack of communication and on at least two nights the restaurants did not have our reservation but thankfully were able to get us in despite that issue. One of the team members contacted us to discuss the experience and things went from bad to worse. In addition to discussing the reservation issues and lack of communication, we reported that twenty dollars had been taken out of one of our backpacks to which the “manager” responded “I don’t believe that happened.” He also said that we should have reported it immediately which probably true but we planned on letting them know at checkout just to make them aware. We weren’t asking for the twenty dollars back. The food was hit or miss.

Depending on where you book, the hotel is listed as 5 star. The hotel is a solid 4. I called Expedia and Planet Hollywood multiple times prior to arrival, and was told that STAR class cannot be added a la carte after check-in- not true. Essentially, if you want premium liquor (brands that we have in the U.S.) you need STAR class. The STAR class pool was nice, but the butler service advertised with STAR was awful. Also, even with STAR class, not all bars had the same liquor. The waiters at the other pools were much better. Some of the drinks and options (such as pillow menu) that are listed at options with STAR class were not actually available. We found out on the last day that there actually was a STAR class welcome buffet that we could have attended and received spa service and other travel bonuses (no one informed us of this). The snorkeling outing itself was great, but the logistics were a mess. The name of the company that actually does the tour is not the name on the reservation. As such, we were dropped of at the site, and it took 15 minutes before anyone had any idea where our reservation came from. We also ordered room service one night, and it never came. Waiter service at the beach on the STAR class side was minimal to none. Finally, as mentioned many times by others, lounge chair availability is an issue. I can't imagine being at that hotel during spring break or Christmas. The hotel was ok for the few days I needed in the sun, but won't stay again.

the food is horrible all the drinks were water down, food was not fresh. the water to shower, and personal hygiene smells like sewerage. the pools including the pool bar is disgusting, there was dirt flooding around me while in the pool, the pool was never vacuum; last but certainly not least. because i wore a cut off shirt i was not allow to eat buffet, until the manager came and allow me in. very rude customer service.

Hotel not the cleanest. Wait staff asked for tips. I was even told on one occasion that I needed to pay the waitress for a spilled drink. Asked to speak to a GM was told he leaves at 1pm and is not available on the weekends. Ran out of entrees and desserts at 2 restaurants nts. Bar & Grill ran out of ketchup mid dayHowever the spa is amazing !!
