I am very disappointed with the housekeeping standards during my stay.
When I returned to my room in the evening, I expected it to have been cleaned. However, the bathroom was dirty, and there were visible yellow urine stains on the toilet, making it obvious that it had been used. The carpet had also not been vacuumed.
What makes this even more concerning is that I overheard another guest complaining about the exact same issue, saying that the bathroom in their room also appeared to have been used by unknown people.
This experience was unacceptable and raised serious concerns about cleanliness, hygiene, and guest security. I hope the hotel will investigate this matter and improve its housekeeping procedures to ensure this does not happen to future guests.

The location is good very close to the square and metro,
The washroom is very very small the curtains in the room are broken, The cleanliness the housekeeping doesn’t clean the toilet nor the shower area with any kind of disinfectant soap or water nothing only change the bed sheet and new towels no any kind of soap or spray was used on the toilet as I’ve seen this cause I was in the room, the pool is at the basement very closed down suffocating and not accessible by elevator, the breakfast is average boring the same everyday

Well located
The location was very good.
The rooms are a bit tired. The first room they gave us was on the first floor. It was small, uncomfortable, noisy and neither the tv nor the internet worked. I have to ask for a change of room. The second room was better but I didn’t think this was a four star hotel.

Perfect location and exceptional hospitality
The hotel's location is exceptional. We had a wonderful experience during our stay. Farahnaz and Mohammad at the front desk were incredibly helpful, kind, and responsive. Their friendly attitude and prompt assistance made our stay even more enjoyable.

Beautiful hotel
The location is excellent and the hotel is really beautiful with big rooms and a fantastic rooftop restaurant. All employees are very kind and helpful as well. I have to underline that Mr Muhammet at the reception upgraded my room to a suite free of charge. I am so grateful. Moreover, Mr Emrah was very helpful whenever we needed something.

I had a wonderful stay at Taksim Gonen Hotel during my recent visit to Istanbul and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting this beautiful city.
One of the biggest advantages of this hotel is its fantastic location. The hotel is situated in a very safe and pleasant area, only a two-minute walk from the vibrant Istiklal Street and within easy reach of Taksim Square. Access to public transport is excellent, with the metro and funicular stations just a short walk away, making it very convenient to explore all parts of Istanbul.
The hotel itself offers a very clean, calm, and professional environment. The staff were courteous, welcoming, and always willing to assist whenever needed.
My room was spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained. The bed and bedding were of high quality, providing an excellent night's sleep after long days of sightseeing. The bathroom was modern, clean, and equipped with a very nice shower.
I also appreciated the peaceful atmosphere of the hotel despite being located so close to the heart of Istanbul's nightlife and shopping district.
Overall, Taksim Gonen Hotel offers an excellent combination of location, comfort, cleanliness, and accessibility. It is a great choice for both business and leisure travellers looking for a comfortable stay in the centre of Istanbul.
I would be very happy to stay here again on my next visit to Istanbul.

Excellent Stay
The location is excellent, and the hotel offers great value for money. The only area that could use some improvement is the breakfast, which could be a bit more varied and enjoyable.
I would also kindly encourage the restaurant staff to smile more ????—it makes a big difference to the overall guest experience.

We loved the location of the hotel and the view from our room. Although the room was not very spacious, it was comfortable and had a beautiful view of Taksim.
We did not purchase the hotel breakfast because there are several great breakfast options nearby, including Mado and Simit Sarayı. This gave us the opportunity to try different breakfasts each day, which we really enjoyed.
The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We would especially like to thank Farahnaz, Emreh, and Amir for their excellent assistance and hospitality.
For those arriving by air, a taxi from the airport to the hotel cost us approximately USD 50.

Unsere Erwartungen wurden nicht erfüllt
Wir haben uns aufgrund der vielen positiven Bewertungen und der insgesamt guten Bewertung auf Booking.com für dieses Hotel entschieden. Umso größer war leider die Enttäuschung, als wir vor Ort feststellen mussten, dass unsere Erfahrungen deutlich von den Erwartungen abwichen.
Das Hotel wird als 4-Sterne-Hotel beworben und hat auf Booking.com eine Bewertung von 8,2 bei über 1.200 Bewertungen. Diese Bewertung können wir persönlich leider nicht nachvollziehen.
Die Zimmer sind sehr in die Jahre gekommen und insgesamt recht ungepflegt. Überall befand sich Staub und die Sauberkeit entsprach nicht unseren Erwartungen. Am ersten Tag erhielten wir ein Zimmer, das so klein war, dass wir nicht einmal zwei große Koffer gleichzeitig öffnen konnten. Nach unserer Beschwerde bekamen wir ein größeres Zimmer.
Am zweiten Tag kam es dort jedoch zu einem Wasserschaden. Das Badezimmer, das Zimmer sowie Teile des Flurs wurden überflutet. Daraufhin wurde uns ein drittes Zimmer zugewiesen. Die Größe des zweiten und dritten Zimmers war angenehm und deutlich besser.
Die Klimaanlage kühlte das Zimmer zwar sehr schnell herunter, funktionierte jedoch nur eingeschränkt. Entweder wurde es sehr kalt oder bei einer anderen Einstellung wurde warme Luft ausgeblasen. Eine vernünftige Temperaturregelung war trotz mehrfacher Versuche nicht möglich.
Das WLAN funktionierte zuverlässig und war ausreichend schnell. Die Handtücher wurden täglich gewechselt, wirkten jedoch qualitativ minderwertig. Eine gründliche Zimmerreinigung fand unserer Meinung nach nicht statt. Auch das Mobiliar ist deutlich veraltet und teilweise abgenutzt.
Zusätzlich fehlte in unserem Zimmer eine Toilettenbürste. Die Bidet- bzw. Hygienedusche am WC funktionierte nicht und auch der Haartrockner arbeitete nicht zuverlässig. Für ein Hotel dieser Kategorie sind solche Mängel nur schwer nachvollziehbar.
Positiv hervorzuheben ist die ausgezeichnete Lage direkt am Taksim-Platz.

Hotel is erg verouderd en niet erg schoon. Ontbijt is beperkt, weinig keuze en geen goede kwaliteit. Ik reisde voor werk met 2 collega's en op geen 1 van onze kamers deed de airco het. Bij een collega deed zelfs de stroom het niet. Dit zouden ze komen oplossen, maar een dag later zijn ze zonder overleg haar kamer binnengegaan en hebben ze al haar spullen verplaatst. Dit was natuurlijk een erg onprettige ervaring.

Excelente ubicación. Desayuno buffet bueno, servido en la última planta, con una terraza. Muy bonito.
El primer dia el aire acondicionado no funcionaba. Me dijeron que no me podían cambiar de habitación hasta el día siguiente. Que me presentara a las 12 en el mostrador.
Ninguna disculpa por haber pasado una noche sin aire con 30 grados de calor.
Si es un hotel 4 estrellas, como no tienen un supervisor que vea que todo funcione en las habitaciones? Eso estuvo muy mal.

It is walking distance from Istambul congress center. The room was ok and even thorugh the bathroom was very small it was clean and functional. The breakfast is (I guess) a traditional Turskish selection that changes every day. It is at a rooftop with an amazing view.
I asked for a first-aid kit, and they didn't have any available. When asking for ironing services, I was handed an ironing table (perfectly okay, I actually prefer to do it myself), but the table was about to crumble into pieces, and the iron was ready to destroy anything it touched.
It is close by a mosque in a busy area and the walls are paper tin so make sure to pack earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
