Excellent stay, best location, quite rooms, would love to come back in winter.
The staff were excellent! Very helpful, polite, accommodating and professional. The property location was excellent, close to everything and secure. The suite was large and very clean. Tea/coffee facilities, fridge, iron and board, hair dryer and all bathroom amenities available. Spear bed and Taxis were provided at request.
No room service. The air conditioner was not working or not enough to cool the room. We barely felt it and were unable to sleep properly from the heat. I keep the balcony windows open that made a huge difference but when flys started circling I had to close it, stopping our cool wind. Steep cost of rooms for no room service.

Great location, generous amenities—canned water, biscuits, coffee and tea in room, toiletries.
Room 401: Bathroom door is a slider. It did not close completely so there was not good visual privacy. It has been our experience that sliding doors do not provide good sound privacy and this door was similarly lacking.

Bel hôtel, qui en l'absence de salle de petit déjeuner ressemble davantage à un dortoir qu'à un hotel 5*.
Personnel de la réception très accueillant, situation idéale entre le centre et la gare.
Les femmes de chambres qui entrent dans la chambre en notre présence, leurs discussions bruyantes dans le couloir, hotel sans "âme" bien que très beau. Porte de la salle d'eau coulissante impossible à fermée tant elle est lourde. lit d'appoint pour adulte petit, terrasse (balcon !) inutilisable tant la rue est bruyante. Dommage, il y a un beau potentiel.

Super place to stay , centrally located and such nice rooms. Next time I will try and book a room with a balcony.
Walking through the entrance took a lift to reception to be greeted by staff. The room I had was very comfortable, large double bed and excellent walk in shower. Extra points for the fridge with cans of water in it. Super additions included an ionic hairdryer as well as tea/coffee making facilities. Finally staff were amazing - very helpful.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff but concerned about their attitude to customer safety
We stayed for one night in room 109. Lovely room but I was shocked to see that one of the bed side lights had a red failed portable appliance test sticker on the plug dated 2024. This meant that the light was unsafe to use as it presented a possible danger. Why was this still in a room? Why hadn't it been removed by the cleaning staff? I unplugged it and took it to the reception to inform them of the issue. The receptionist didn't seem to concerned with the fact that it had a red failed sticker on it. Infact she started to remove it but I stopped her and said that she should not do that until it had been checked and declared safe for use.
Other minor issues with our room was that the cold tap for the basin fall off.
Apart from what I have mentioned above which I'm sure will be addressed, the hotel and our room was clean, well presented and the staff were very polite and helpful. I would not dismiss staying here again as it is very centrally located in Oxford

Booking Review
We spent a lovely night staying at this hotel on George Street, Oxford, and we were thoroughly satisfied with our overall experience.
First of all, the interior decor is cosy and thoughtfully designed, showing fantastic taste from the designers, creating a relaxing atmosphere the moment we stepped in. We’d also like to give special praise to the Chinese-speaking reception lady at the front desk. She was incredibly gentle, attentive and considerate to all guests. She promptly helped us switch rooms whenever available to suit our needs.
Our accommodation was really comfortable. We even stayed one night in the basement room, which was surprisingly dry with no damp issues at all. The biggest highlight for us was the in-room air conditioning. The weather was extremely hot during our stay in Oxford, and it was such a relief that every single room was fully equipped with functional air con, making our stay far more pleasant.
Would happily recommend this property and choose to stay again on our next trip to Oxford.

A Very expensive disappointment.

Room smelled damp. We paid £365 for a superior room with balcony, we were put in a smaller room that did not resemble the room picture when we ordered. They don't even offer breakfast.

I would like to highly recommend this hotel in Oxford. The staff were extremely warm and friendly, and they kindly upgraded our queen-size bed room to a twin room for free. The guest rooms are cosy and well-kept. The beds are incredibly comfortable, which are the best I have slept in during my whole trip across the UK. All team members offer thoughtful and polite service, bringing us a wonderful and satisfying staying experience.

Booked three rooms for an overnight stay. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms however were on the 'lower ground' floor (basement) with no windows and just air conditioning units. The hotel location was excellent but had we been made aware of the rooms location, we would have made other arrangements.

More like a 4 star hotel than 5. Over priced.
It was located near the shops. The beds were comfortable. The staff were helpful.
Considering the amount we paid for our stay I was very disappointed with the room we were given and the lack of facilities this hotel had to offer. It definitely was not value for money. My mum and I booked to stay here for 4 nights. We booked a twin room. There was no veranda and our room was really small. The wardrobe could not fully open and had damage where it scraped against the bedside draw unit as you tried to open it in full. We paid over £800 for 4 nights. There was no breakfast included in that price and no parking. Luckily, we organised to register our car for disability parking, or my mum would not have been able to cope.
Please note that if you are disabled, you have to register your car with the council at least 10 days before your trip . This allows you to park and drive in central Oxford without getting a ticket or to pay a congestion charge.
Going back to the hotel. After complaining about the room. We were offered another room the next day. This was better, but for a 5-star hotel, it was still very disappointing. The blind was broken in the room, and it was still small. The shower was fixed on the wall and was not very powerful either. I would definitely put this as a 4-star hotel, not 5.
I travelled a lot and stayed at much better hotels that were lower rated but provided better facilities. Far too expensive for what they offer, which is not much. If you use a local car park, it is £41 per night.
For breakfast, they recommend a cafe that is connected to the hotel. Again, that is expensive for what you have. I got burnt pancakes and the bill for breakfast was £40.00. ????

The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was central to everything.
Our room was on 'lower ground' basically in the basement without any window or access to daylight/air.
This was not explained to us before we arrived.
In the night I felt very anxious and unable to sleep as I am unused to sleeping in a room without a window and air.
It would have been helpful to have this explained to us before our stay so that we could have reviewed our options.
On the day as check-in is not until 3.00 p.m. and we were rushing to get to a graduation event, we did not have time to think about requesting an alternative room.

Location good, but travel by public transport.
Location was superb for the theatre.
Driving to the hotel, as I have walking difficulties... didn't appreciate couldn't park outside whilst un loading. Getting to the car park which we had the postcode for, with all the Driving restrictions.... and congestion charges. We ended up paying £90 on surcharges. Appreciate this wasn't the hotels problem, but perhaps should be hilighted in their information, that Driving and parking is not recommended for this city centre hotel.

Excellent hotel in great location with friendly staff
Staff were very helpful and replied to emails sent before arrival quickly. Great location right in the centre. We had a room at the back (309) so had no street noise at all. Nice toiletries and bathroom
Only very slight niggle would be the sliding bathroom door which had no lock. Was sharing with a friend and there was always a small gap visible

Lovely helpful smiling welcoming staff. Great location, just 9 minutes from station. Balcony with street view (opposite the New Theatre). Owned by an independent family, who clearly cares about its clients. We would definitely return
From the outside, the street is quite run down, and the entrance to the hotel is unassuming. You need to go up in the lift to get to reception. From thereon it is all lovely. Not super modern, more old style inside.
Practical note: it does not serve breakfast, not a problem as there are loads of wonderful cafes in Oxford.

No message left or room change provided when we returned to hotel at 23.45.
Hotel states - Soundproofed - kept awake until 2am by night revellers in the nightclub next door shouting in the street. At 5am awoken by road sweepers cleaning George street - all audible in the room.
Hotel states - CITY VIEW our room 105 looks across the road at the side of the rundown New Oxford Theatre and dirty shop fronts

We booked via Booking.com website a DELUX ROOM no were to put your luggage accept on the smallest bed iv seen in a 5 star hotel or on the floor

Nice location very central. Quiet enough but can sometimes hear other guests. The bed is comfy and everything is nicely done. The hotel has character and the staff are great.
If you don’t book a luxury room you won’t get a balcony so light is limited but not bad for a short stay.

Otroligt läge, mitt i centrum och ändå helt ostört. Nära till tågstation och bussterminal, restauranger, pubar, affärer samt viktigast av allt : helt nära de fantastiska collegen, Radcliffe camera, Bodleian, Ashmolean, Covered market, ALLT inom lätt promenadavstånd.
Personal trevlig och hjälpsam, rummet bra storlek, lyxigt inrett, skön säng, fantastiskt badrum! Mycket smidigt att kunna lämna bagage över dagen innan fortsatt resa.
Hade lite svårt att hitta entren när vi kom sent på kvällen men dagtid märkte vi att det inte var svårt att se skyltarna...
