10 Stars - hands down.
Our last 6 previous trips to various locations globally have all been at the four seasons but when we were exploring visiting Punta Mita for the first time, we decided to stay at the neighboring St. Regis resort. It was our first time at a St Regis property and it exceeded our expectations. We are first time parents and it was our first trip with our 4 month old baby and we were extremely worried about how it would go. Jose Manuel Amaro (Guest Services Manager) was extremely responsive and made sure that everything we requested for (crib, play pen, hot water kettle etc) was there in our room when we checked in. Jose also secured transportation to and from the airport for us which was a huge relief and booked all of our dinner reservations offsite for the week. It was so seamless. As a person who pays attention to all the details, I especially appreciated the 5 star service that began even before we checked in. We booked a one bedroom suite with a balcony and an ocean view. The room was beautiful, clean, spacious and extremely well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed all the amenities inside the room (mini fridge, outdoor shower, multiple flat screen TVs, comfortable bed, patio furniture etc). The view was STUNNING. One detail that I didn't remember when I booked was that our suite came with a Butler service. Gustavo was assigned to us for the entire duration and he made our trip extra special. He was extremely attentive and made sure that we got everything we needed. We requested dish soap to wash baby bottles (he happily sourced and provided). They even had a bottle sterilizer and allowed us to borrow it for the trip which made it so much easier to keep our baby's bottles cleaned and sanitized. We REALLY appreciated these details. Gustavo took care of all of our transportation requests to and from dinner reservations. He was always responsive and eager to help - no matter what our request was (coffee with hot cream, cucumbers at odd hours, case of water bottles - all of it). He truly made the biggest difference in our experience at the St Regis. The breakfast buffet at the Marietas restaurant is some of the best I've ever had. Buffets tend to dilute the experience and quality but not at St Regis Punta Mita, they have a wide variety of options to make sure everyone is satisfied and everything tastes incredible. The staff is super friendly and attentive. You never have to look for anyone because there's a staff member nearby anticipating being needed. What an incredible feeling. We spent most of our trip at the beach and the beach service is equally top notch. All the staff members are helpful, attentive and you feel taken care of. The food service at the beach and the drinks were incredible as well. They have 3 pools (we spent time at 2 of them - Family ones) and the sand bar at the large pool was a hit with our 4 month old. Their other restaurants mita mary and sea breeze are also delicious. The beach is beautiful and easily accessible. There were always loungers available so no one needs to run out at 8 am to secure a spot. There aren't enough nice things I can say about this resort, their staff and the amazing memories that they have helped us create. It makes ALL the difference and management should pat themselves on the back. The hospitality, the genuine desire to make sure your guests feel special and well taken care of - all of these characteristics are what make your staff special. We are already planning a trip back and this time with more family members.

Shout out to special server
What an experience! The staff is second to none, but wanted to take a moment for a special shout out to Oscar at Murietta restaurant. Make sure that you ask to sit in his section. One in a million!

The Resort is a Dream
After 13 visits and 135 nights, I can say without hesitation that St. Regis Punta Mita is the most beautiful resort I’ve ever been to, and I've been to a lot of places. The minute we arrive in the lobby, it feels like we’ve come home. We’re always greeted by a welcoming staff who are genuinely happy to see us and ready to make sure we have the best possible vacation. The resort itself is stunning. The mature landscaping is lush, beautifully maintained, and creates a feeling of privacy and exclusivity. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, and the bathrooms are incredible—with large soaking tubs and outdoor showers that feel truly indulgent. Each villa has its own private entrance, so you rarely hear or see neighbors. No hallways, no slamming doors, just peace. The beach is breathtaking, with some of the most beautiful sunsets we’ve ever seen. The water is warm, perfect for daily swims, and the trees along the sand provide natural shade so you can stay out there all day. We go out after breakfast, watch sunset then to the adult pool for a drink and hot tub. Perfect day. The food is consistently good across the resort. The breakfast buffet is the largest and most diverse I’ve ever experienced, and Chef Chepe is absolutely killing it with his daily specials—we never get tired of it, even after 10 mornings in a row. Sakana serves some of the best sushi and poke bowls, Mita Mary has amazing seafood right on the beach, and Carolina offers a creative, high-end dining experience. But this review wouldn’t be complete without talking about the people. The staff here aren’t just doing a job—they genuinely care for you like family. Over the years, they’ve become our family, and they are the reason we keep coming back. They’ve decorated for birthdays and anniversaries, made special cakes and meals, set up balloons on the beach and in our room, delivered surprises almost daily, brought gifts, played music—there is truly nothing they won’t do to make us feel special. It’s not like anything we’ve experienced anywhere else in the world. So I have to give my shout-outs, because they deserve to hear it: Federico and his team at Marieta’s, who start our mornings with big smiles. Arturo, Oscar, Jesus, Leonel, Elena, sweet Angel, and the rest of the crew, what a great way to start the day. Antonio at Sea Breeze—this man is nothing but smiles and service. He makes sure we have everything we need, all day, every day, and has surprised us more than once with balloons and flowers at our chairs just to make us feel special. We have out inside jokes and fun banter. He's employee of the year every year in my eyes. Gumaro and his team at Sakana—Antonio, Regi, Oscar, and David—you guys make me laugh every single day and I know I drive you crazy. Cesar, the butler manager, who somehow manages all my requests (and my need to “have my team”), and the butlers who make it all happen—Miguel, Susannah, Marianna, and Leo. And Leo… my friend, my family. After 135 nights together, there is nothing he wouldn’t do for me. He is truly one of a kind, a king among men. Chris at the front desk, who handles me with patience (which says a lot), grace, and professionalism. He makes all my room dreams come true and is an absolute gem. Juana, running front of house with style and grace. She always brings such a kind, lovely presence, and I love seeing a strong female executive leading the way. And finally, the GM, Fernando Gibaja. The resort has only gotten better under his leadership. He is hands-on, passionate, approachable, and always makes me feel like a VIP. He always makes time for a chat and is just a cool guy. After all these visits, this isn’t just a place we come to relax—it’s a place that truly feels like home. What keeps bringing us back isn’t just how beautiful Punta Mita is, it’s the people and the way they make you feel. If you’re looking for somewhere special, this is it. It’s stunning, it’s welcoming, and it’s an experience you won’t find just anywhere. You’ll understand the moment you arrive.

Great hotel and wonderful staff, management / empowerment is lacking
Came here for a week long vacation. Been here 11 times before and have really enjoyed it every time. I'm a lifetime platinum member with 956 nights and 17 years as platinum. We checked in on saturday and then on sunday there was significant unrest in Puerto vallarta and the surrounding areas requiring us to shelter in place. Only one restaurant was open at St. Regis and we could not go to the other restaurants nearby at the other hotels due to the lockdown. The staff were great and did all they could to make the environment as good as it could be. The restaurants finally got back up an running later in the week. Again, given the circumstances, all was very good. The one issue I had was that the staff told me the hotel is going to be mostly empty for the next few weeks (today the pool only had 4 people- on a friday). The unrest has spooked many people from the area. This means many on the staff probably will not be working. I called the front desk and told them I was willing to stay an extra day if they were willing to offer a discount (the hotel is extremely expensive). I figured this could be a nice win/win situation. I had to speak to 3 different people just to finally get a tiny concession. The reality was that I was indifferent in staying an 8th day, but I wanted to see if the management valued my loyalty and wanted to keep a few of the staff employed a while longer. If the hotel management understood economics, they would know that even if they didn't charge me, paying for an expensive lunch, dinner and drinks would help maintain a staffing level for one more day. It seems there is no one here who gets the bigger picture. I'm awaiting a call back from the GM, I'm not going to hold my breath. Again, the staff is excellent, I just find the management at these hotel chains do not empower the front line to do what is obvious. Given the unrest over the past week and this lack of management judgement, it may be my last time at this great resort.

Double charged for room with bugs and slow food service
This is not what I would consider a 5* property. There were multiple issues during my stay and now a month after I am still dealing with the hotel. I was charged twice. Once at the appropriate time. And Once a month after my check out for $3500. Unauthorized charges to peoples credit cards is illegal and unacceptable. Now for the actual stay… there were massive bugs in the rooms. They would remove used towels and face cloths and never replace them. Everyday I had to text the butler service to ask for clean ones. That’s ridiculous. The butler would take 30-60 mins to respond with action. The food is over priced for what it is. It’s simple, relatively flavourless and quite frankly not of the caliber it should be. The food service is appalling. I should not have to ask for cutlery, water or salt at a 5* property. One night it took 1.5 hours to receive quesadillas. The beach sucks. It’s rocky even in the water. I would never stay here again and I urge you to consider the Conrad or the four seasons instead of the st. Regis

Great Beach Day at the St Regis PUNTA MITA
We had a wonderful day at the St. Regis Beach Club in Punta Mita. The setting is beautiful, the service is seamless, and the overall experience is both relaxing and luxurious. A special thank you to our beach attendant, Jesus Ayala, who was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and incredibly professional. He went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and well cared for, making the day truly memorable

Perfect new years trip
Our vacation at St. Regis was wonderful because of the amazing service offered by the whole staff, but in particular Pablo who attended to us each day at the Adults Only pool. He truly made a big difference in how we will always remember our time here!

Peaceful stay in Punta Mita
My husband and I loved our week at The St. Regis Punta Mita! Our butler team and restaurant servers at Marietas, Sea Breeze, and Mita Mary were fantastic! Our butlers were Gustavo, Cynthia, and Jaime, and they took terrific care of us. They pressed a dress for me one day. They made all our dinner reservations. They made sure housekeeping provided washcloths and bottled waters. They made the vacation even more restful. Our meals were all good. Yes, we've seen many people complain about the restaurant prices. They're expensive, more expensive than what they should be for the product; however, that's very typical for a resort, unfortunately. I ordered both the breakfast buffet and from the breakfast menu. I'm not a large eater so the menu was a better option for me on some mornings, but also I like the ease of choosing what I want from a buffet, especially with a made to order omelette station. The French toast on the buffet was exceptional. We've also stayed several times at the Four Seasons Punta Mita. This was our first time at The St. Regis. The Four Seasons is probably better for families because the beach is longer and much less rocky. The Four Seasons also has a lazy river. I actually think the rooms are more refined at the Four Seasons. We had a junior suite at The St. Regis. It was large. We loved the size. It was quite clean, but some of the corners and painting could have used better finishing touches. The room needed more light, too. We, however, loved the layout of the resort. The bed was also very comfortable, not too soft or too firm. Because we're not currently traveling with children, we'd choose The St. Regis again. I look forward to returning soon!

Terrible experience at Marriott Luxury Brand!
I am a Marriott LTP member (not if that means anything). I stayed here back in 2018 for close to 2 weeks (mixed stay) I am back here now for thanksgiving having spent 6 of the last 7 years in similar high end properties for major holidays (eg Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos). Though the hard product is quite nice our experience has been awful, from pre arrival issues to non existent basic pool service on day one to 3 consecutive days of construction / drilling in our room from 9 am onwards every day!! To make matters worse the customer experience lead (Angel) in my opinion should not be working in the hospitality industry, he has no understanding, empathy or ability to relate with customers, also he tends not to listen much either!! Sadly we are stuck here till the weekend, my advice to others is next time go to the WA Cabo or 4S PM where they have a much better understanding of customer needs and service.

Trying to scam my family
Just arrived. I booked my suite with Amex Centurion and paid in full for the suite. Upon check-in, the hotel tried to scam me into a junior suite. I kept showing them my itinerary and how it shows I paid for a suite after much back-and-forth I decided to call Centurion, who then explained to the hotel that they saw the same and that in fact I did pay. After 45 minutes wasted, they finally apologize and put me in the right room not the right way to start my trip. Be aware!

Second Perfect Stay!
Second fabulous stay with the St. Regis Punta Mita family and it won't be our last! Our butlers, Miguel, Susana and Leo were all fantastic. This is our second time with Susana. She remembered us and made us feel like we were returning home! They made all of our in-house and off property dinner reservations and were so attentive and wonderful. Sufi and Hector's kitchen were both delicious! Mita Mary's potato churros dish is delicious. The pizza and pasta at the Sea Breeze restaurant were terrific. We also ate lunch at our favorite restaurant in town, Pescadora a/k/a Blue Shrimp. The breakfast buffet is delicious and has a ton of variety. Take advantage of the mimosa specials. Oscar at the adult pool is our favorite! It was my birthday and we were given a lovely, fun and colorful chocolate birthday pinata! The ocean water is swimmable and warm. Bring water shoes because the shallow part of the water is rocky. The room with pool was spacious and stunning. The outdoor shower is our favorite! The St. Regis is much closer to the golf course than the Four Seasons if you are playing golf. We stayed at both hotels on this trip. St. Regis does not have charging privileges at the course whereas 4S guests do. The butlers saved us when our transportation service was late to pick us up for our airport ride due to a flat tire. The concierge put us in an alternate vehicle and we were on our way! The St. Regis went above and beyond to look after us! Thank you for all the fun on this stay!

BEWARE.
BEWARE. This property overcharged me by nearly $1500. I booked and was confirmed with one rate but when I got to the hotel, they changed it on me with no previous warning. I never would have booked this hotel at that price. I was completely trapped in a foreign country by myself and am now in financial distress. What was supposed to be a special treat to de-stress after a death in the family, has turned into a huge stress and now has put my immediate future jeopardy. They even sent me a receipt for the proper amount and then had me sign a different receipt in pesos, telling me it was the same. I was scared at this point, signed it, and when i got to the airport, they sent a second receipt for another much larger amount. I was lied to, tricked, and the whole experience a complete nightmare. I wonder how many others they have tricked with this scam. They should be ashamed of themselves.

The gold standard
We haven’t been since the remodel, rooms were upgraded spectacularly a new St Regis bar was added as well as many new faces. I must take a moment to recognize the guys at the bar: Alfredo (inquisitive over the top hospitable with an insatiable desire to learn and find the most obscure cocktail ingredient so much fun!!!!!!), Johnny and I believe Juan the bartender were great as well. We had cocktails all 5 nights which was a highlight of the trip. Isaac at the front entry I can’t say enough genuine caring and so much fun to chat with he is beyond the gold standard. The guys at the adult pool were all great David Mercado, the other David, Juan and Ellias all exceptional and all new faces for us (we’ve been to this property approximately 12 times). The hotel never fails to disappoint however I must mention as a Titanium elite and lifetime Platinum we received a room without a view buried behind vegetation of the waterfront villas (first time ever) in a completely empty hotel which was pretty lame (we did use points)…... I’ve never asked for a better room in my life other than this trip and was declined, to the above folks that made our trip so special thank you!!!!!!!!

Honeymoon Getaway
My wife and I spent six days on property. Received a complimentary room upgrade and early check in. Cannot say enough about the property, amenities and, most of all, staff. So friendly and accommodating. 24 hour butler service looks after any special ask. Beach, pools, and golf were all spectacular. The outdoor shower in our junior suite was so nice! Hope to return for more sun, fun and relaxation next year

Not a 5 star hotel
Absolutely not worth the money. We stayed in the beach front room with a plunge pool which is their nicest room besides renting a villa and it was horrible. The floor clearly has no pad as we heard everything above us. We were woken up at 6am every morning by the person above us. Not what I’d expect for a 2k a night. Food at the resort is ok at best. Service is hit or miss, sometimes is great and sometimes no one responds. Definitely not worth the money

A most excellent stay - will definitely return.
I’ve been meaning to write this review for a while. We were at St. Regis Punta Mita for our 30th Wedding anniversary and we had the most excellent stay at St. Regis Punta Mita. From our arrival (including special items in our room wishing us a Happy Anniversary) to our departure everything was fantastic. The customer service is unmatched, every detail is paid attention to and every need is anticipated. I want to take the time to give accolades to some staff that really enhanced our stay. Luis at the Lobby Bar is absolutely amazing - he made us the best martinis and shared with us his journey of his career at the St. Regis and how much he appreciates working there. He remembered us each evening as well as our order. Additionally Armando at the Lobby bar was excellent too - lots of fun conversation and remembered us and our order as well. Eduardo at Caroline restaurant is so good at his job too - made us feel very welcome and very good at conversation. Elias at the pool was also excellent, very attentive and remembered us each day too. Each morning at the buffet breakfast, Arturo remembered us and our special coffee order. Oscar at Sakana was another person that stood out for outstanding customer service. Overall, all the staff and the accommodations were beyond our expectations and we will definitely be returning. Everyone also taught us some “neighborhood” Spanish that we really appreciated! Thank you!

Impeccable Service and Easy Luxury
The St. Regis Punta Mita delivered on service and atmosphere. My wife and I spent a short July vacation in a Junior Suite that included breakfast and a daily resort credit. Although it was technically rainy season, most showers were limited to late at night and clear to partly cloudy skies during the day. From arrival to departure, the service was truly top-notch. Every member of the staff, from management to beach attendants, worked to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Pool and beachside service struck the perfect balance. Staff checked in often enough to keep us pampered, but never too often to interrupt the peaceful vibe. Buckets of cold water, towels, loungers, and umbrellas were always ready before we had to ask. The poolside food, including ceviche, sushi, and burgers, was fresh and easily customized to our preferences. Our Junior Suite was slightly dated, but it was clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the outdoor shower. It had a rustic feel that added charm and gave the room a more authentic, regional touch. Our spa experience was also excellent. The massages were skillfully done, and while the open-air spa was a little warm during our visit, I imagine it is more comfortable during cooler months. Breakfast each morning was a highlight. The buffet was varied and well-prepared, and the made-to-order items were equally good. The egg and chorizo tacos on fresh corn tortillas were easily the best thing I ate during our stay. The butler service deserves a special mention. Our butlers were always enthusiastic, helpful, and readily available. Whether arranging spa services or helping with dinner plans, they made our short stay feel effortless. Dinner at the resort restaurants was good but not quite excellent. Most dishes were fresh and well-prepared, but there were a few misses. The pizza at Seabreeze was soggy, the octopus in the tacos at Marietas needed more time on the grill, and the crab appetizer at Mita Mary was overwhelmed by mayo. That said, there were some real highlights. The Al Pastor tacos at Marietas and the grilled fish at Mita Mary were both outstanding. One area that could use improvement is the activity planning. It was difficult to understand what was included on-site, what was located elsewhere on the property, and how to book each option. I believe our butler or the concierge could have helped with that, but we were not always sure what questions to ask. Overall, the St. Regis Punta Mita is a refined and welcoming resort. The service, food, and relaxed luxury made for a memorable few days. With some clearer guidance around activities and a bit more consistency in the dining experience, one would have a tough time finding any flaws.

More beautiful than the Four Seasons
Beautiful hotel with gorgeous, green landscaping and an expansive property. Welcoming and professional staff with a warm Hola on every encounter from the landscapers to the front desk. Given the size of the property it never felt crowded. The rooms were large with large bathrooms and outdoor shower plunge. The only drawback was on Monday’s and Tuesdays one of the restaurants was closed and the other fine dining restaurant was temporarily closed for a restart of their menu. This left only two options for dinner on property. Compared to the Four Seasons which we visited for dinner, the St. Regis wins hands down for the beauty of the property.

Outstanding Service
This hotel has always been an amazing place to stay. The level of service from the staff has always exceeded expectations. You simply do not hear the word "no." But, I want to specifically call out two waiters - Ezequiel Hernandez and Alberto Uribe. We had been lucky enough to work with them before at Carolina, when it was open. But, now that it is closed, they are working at different restaurants on property. When I talked to them on various nights, I mentioned in passing that I missed the corn ice cream dessert from the closed restaurant Carolina. A day or so later, a staff member approached me by the pool, and told me that that they knew I missed that dessert, and so they attempted to recreate it for me. I was given two bowls of corn ice cream, at no cost. I never asked for it, nor do I know how they even found me that day. It was a level of service that I've never experienced before. Oh, and the ice cream was great. I can't wait to return and thank them in person. Trevor

Almost Perfect — But Not Quite What You’d Expect from a St. Regis
Let me start by saying this: the hotel is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are meticulously maintained, and from the moment you arrive, you’re immediately transported into full vacation mode. The atmosphere is serene and luxurious—exactly what you’d hope for from a high-end beach resort. As part of my work, I often stay a night at each luxury property in a given area to get a feel for the experience before deciding where to return for a longer stay. On this particular trip, I split my time between the Four Seasons, Conrad, and the St. Regis. A night or two is usually enough to get a good read on the service and vibe of a place—and unfortunately, this is where the St. Regis fell slightly short. The Positives: As a Titanium Elite member, I selected the complimentary breakfast as my welcome gift, which was a fantastic value considering the buffet runs $65 per person. I was also fortunate that they cleared my nightly upgrade award. I was upgraded to a one-bedroom villa, complete with two massive private pools and sweeping views. The villa itself was a dream: spacious, tastefully furnished, and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The beach is another standout. It’s pristine and peaceful, and the staff set up our beach chairs quickly, arriving with a bucket of ice and bottled water. It’s those kinds of thoughtful touches that really elevate a resort experience. The Negatives: Where the resort fell short was in service—specifically, the much-advertised butler service. While we did receive a few text messages with basic information, we never actually met our butler in person. There was no welcome tour, no explanation of the villa or resort amenities, and no personalized service. We had mentioned we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, which was never acknowledged—not even with a note or a small gesture. At other properties offering similar services, like the Ritz-Carlton in the Maldives, the butler went above and beyond with thoughtful anniversary surprises and consistent presence. In contrast, this felt more like a virtual concierge than a dedicated butler. To give one specific example: I requested an iron and ironing board and was told it would be delivered within five minutes. It didn’t arrive. Later, the butler messaged that housekeeping said the room should already have one—of course, I’d already checked, otherwise I wouldn’t have asked. Then, on the day of checkout, I was finally informed that the resort offers complimentary pressing service—something that would have been helpful to know earlier, and should have been mentioned at the (nonexistent) initial walk-through. When the iron finally did arrive, it was broken. At that point, I didn’t bother asking again. When you’re staying at a hotel with the St. Regis name—and paying premium rates for rooms, dining, and transportation—you expect a level of service to match. Unfortunately, that standard just wasn’t met here. Upon checkout, we shared our concerns, but received no apology—just a casual “I’ll mention it to management,” which felt dismissive at best. Final Thoughts: If this were a different property charging half the price, I probably wouldn’t be so critical. But with the St. Regis brand and pricing comes a certain expectation of service and attention to detail, and on this visit, that expectation wasn’t fulfilled. That said, I still believe this resort is worth visiting for the stunning grounds alone. The setting is breathtaking, and the elite member perks are genuinely generous. I’d be willing to give this hotel another chance—hopefully with a smoother, more polished service experience next time.

Perfection
This hotel is perfect in every way I cannot find one thing to complain about The service, the rooms, the food, the views and grounds It is just heavenly. I don’t think kids , especially active ones, would find much to do on property. Save this for an adult/couples trip.

Gorgeous location! It’s the staff that makes this place though… My new friend Oscar at the breakfast restaurant was my favorite. Palma rocked it too along with Arturo. The spa group Mario, Marcos, Laura and the new guy Jean! What a cast of wonderful characters! You won’t be disappointed

Poor management
St. Regis Punta Mita review Before coming to the St. Regis Punta Mita I had fairly high expectations, given my excellent experiences with St. Regis resorts at different locations in the past. I think the views are great, and I used them as a distraction from the poor management for the first couple days of my trip. As days went by, I realized how the workers were not properly trained and you would have to follow up with them multiple times in order to get something you requested. For example, at breakfast when I ordered an iced coffee, every morning I had to ask my waiter (different every time) 3 times for milk, and the ice in my coffee had already melted by the time it had gotten to me. This is just one example, but when you are trying to relax on vacation, constantly following up on things should not be a problem. Also, there were 3 different times when my family would be out of the room for 5 hours at a time and we would come back and our room would not be cleaned. This is another example of how we would have to text someone to clean our room, which should be a given. Any other hotel, no matter the price, is required to clean the hotel room regularly. In addition, I think the property they have is beautiful, but the way they used the space was not ideal. The room my family stayed in was at least a 15 minute walk to the restaurants/pools that kids were allowed in. Some days it was nice to get that walk in, but it took so much time to go back to the room if we forgot something, and I think they could have assembled the rooms in more of a vertical fashion rather than horizontal. Also, given the expensive fees for staying at the resort in general, the additional costs for things were unnecessary and could have been a lot cheaper. For example, they refused to drive us in the many golf carts they had unoccupied, and made us buy a taxi ride to the pickleball and tennis courts which were at least a 35 minute walk away from the resort. Also, there was one day where we wanted to ride bikes that the hotel had and were not being occupied, but to rent a bike for a day was $30 per bike, so we did not want to spend $120 total to ride 4 bikes for an hour. I just think that there should be more amenities included in the stay given the already expensive costs of staying in the hotel. Finally, at least when my family went, they made a makeshift gym because they were working on making a new gym. This was kind of frustrating for my family, given that we like to work out, especially while on vacation. The gym was small and didn’t have key workout machines such as a stair master. It was also extremely hot, so it was impossible not to sweat after trying to workout for 10 minutes. Overall, I think the resort is beautiful and there are good features to it, but the poor management, hotel design, and prices made this a hotel I would never want to come back to.

Family trip with kids
I have been meaning to write this review from our stay in October of 2024. We stayed at this lovely, renovated resort for 6 nights. We had a wonderful time. Everyone was so kind and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast at Las Marietas. I would like to give a shoutout to the breakfast chef, Ramon and all the restaurant staff; Arturo Robles, Jovany Garcia, Manuel Moreno, Jonathan Munoz, Alfredo Mora, Jesus Becerra, Ismael and Elena. Every single one of these mentions went above and beyond for our two boys, and my mother-in-law who was recovering from chemo during this trip. It was such a joy to see the staff every morning at breakfast. The beach and pools were really nice. Kids enjoyed the kids club and we even booked a babysitter for an all adult dinner at Carolina. Food there was really good, and also excellent service. We would happily return. Thank you everyone for your excellent hospitality!

Absolute Rest, Magic, & Memories
A close friend raved about this property a couple years ago; ever since, I've been trying to find time to get there with my elementary school-aged daughter.  We booked a room just shy of 24 hours before arriving in Puerto Vallarta.  To say the least, the decision to stay here was one of the best vacation-related decisions I've made as a parent and for myself. We spent a total of five nights at the resort; from the moment we checked in, everything was a combination of pure "ahhh", "bliss", and "wow". *Check In* There isn't a front desk to check into.  Instead, you're escorted to an amazing ocean view and comfy chairs, handed delicious hibiscus tea welcome drinks (with or without alcohol), and asked to relax as check-in paperwork is handled.  After having driven from Puerto Vallarta on roads that aren't exactly in the best condition, this was a phenomenal way to begin transitioning from "work is crazy and I need to separate and spend time with my kid" mode to "actual rest and quality time" mode. *The Butler Service* We were so fortunate to have Ricardo, Nancy, and Jose as our butlers.  All I can say is that I hope as they walk this earth, people treat them with as much care, kindness, and understanding as they showed me and my daughter.  Every request big and small was met with an optimistic, can-do, gracious attitude.   *Birthday Service For My Daughter* My kiddo turned nine just before this trip.  When the hotel learned of my daughter's birthday, staff decided to make the next day her birthday again!  The day started with staff at Marietas (the breakfast restaurant) presenting her with an Oreo cheesecake and a St. Regis Bear, followed by another cake in our room that afternoon, followed by a birthday banner being hung over her bed, along with an amazing display of gold and silver balloons.  And then, a few days later, another belated birthday present -- this time a stuffed bird of some sort -- was presented to her.  Another family we met on-site shared a story of their daughter also being presented with a bear, along with a story of how the bear became friends with the stuffed animal the child brought to the hotel from home.  Beautiful and the stuff memories are made of. *Stretch Class with Johnny + Gym Equipment*I took a few morning stretch classes with Johnny, who works at the gym.  Amazing classes (and included in the rate), plus, when I wished out loud for another class off-schedule, Johnny simply asked me to connect with my butler to make it happen, and magically, another cost-free class was created.  So kind. Gym equipment is also top-notch. It would be amazing if the resort added morning yoga classes as similar properties do, like Pelican Hill in Socal.  Johnny mentioned that a number of new activities might be added to the menu in the coming months. *Meals* All of the meals we had were outstanding, from the pizzas at Sea Breeze (the best crust I've had) to the potato churros at Mita Mary's and the breakfast tacos at Marietas -- everything was excellent.  Also, special props to the joy-filled taco and omelette preparers at Marietas, Jonathan at Marietas for introducing me to mamey fruit (thanks for cutting it up!), all the people who sourced morning Sudoku puzzles for me at Marietas, Sai for finding space for us at Mita Mary's, and Hugo for his patience with my kiddo's taste in food one night. *Paddleboarding* I really appreciated being able to hop onto a paddleboard right from the property's beach.  Bring cash to pay a reduced rate. *Tide Pools* Be sure to spend time exploring the on-site tidepools during low-tide.  They're full of nearly-fluorescent red hermit crabs, starfish, and other amazing creatures to observe. *Kids Club* This was the most average aspect of the hotel.  It really aims at a younger demographic than my nine year old, though my daughter made a close friend during one of the cooking classes, which was lovely.  It would be amazing if the property adopted options for older kiddos, perhaps science-based programming similar to what Bacara and the Laguna Niguel Ritz do.   *Last But Not Least, The Outdoor Shower* Our room was equipped with both indoor and outdoor showers.  I'm not 100% sure if all rooms have the outdoor option, but if you visit this slice of heaven, take advantage of it.  Just imagine waking up to a warm sunrise, crystal blue skies with white puffy clouds, tropical birds singing their melodies in the background, and then a calm, warm (or cool!) waterfall in that setting.  By the end of the trip, to keep things quiet for my kiddo while she slept, I used this space to meditate in the morning.  Perfection. ******** I travel the world for work and leisure -- Japan, India, and everything in between. I usually stay at Marriott properties....  I've simply never experienced a place like this.  Can't wait to return.  Thanks to everyone on-property for the rest, magic and memories.

Probably the best on Pacific Mexico
Generally speaking...exceptional experience, with some caveats. I'll also say this right out of the gate: we visited the Four Seasons Punta Mita as well, and this is just a better resort. The Four Seasons property is chaotic and definitely not worth the uplift in price. We're late 30s and well traveled...have a taste for the nicer things...when doing the research, a lot of the reviews made it seem like this property was without any vibe and energy...that's not true. It's just less chaotic. I love energy (within reason) at the resorts we visit...but the layout, the tons of buildings, the overstacked etc stuff going on at Four Seasons feels poorly planned and like someone did a continual add on. The St Regis property is well planned and makes sense, easy to get around, etc. It appears that there are only 4 rooms in each villa/building max, rather than the swaths at the Four Seasons. It feels more exclusive. There were always plenty of seats at all 3 pools. The kids areas were spread out enough to not encourage a lot of noise or volatility. My wife and I, enjoying some time away from our littles, were happy to sit at any of the pools...although mostly opting for the adults area anyway. The ratio of patrons to space is well managed. The visitors were generally courteous and there was almost no stuffy vibes compared to other properties we've experienced in this price point. There were, of course, a couple of pain points. First of all, the spa needs better basic upkeep. No overhaul necessary, but the sitting areas outdoors (at least on the guys side) had grass ripped up, irrigation exposed, and so forth...it felt very unmanaged and quite outside of the St. Regis brand. At $500 a massage, you'd expect a little better experience. There were some such bizarre maintenance things going on....and other small not well thought out items (such as some sort of weird radio antenna attached to the top of one of the villas and other like visually chaotic elements that seem like easy reductions of the horizon noise that would otherwise make this experience feel more polished). Cocktails...were mediocre at best. I think the expectation from high end Mexican resorts is that sophisticated overseas drinkers want to avoid sugar at all costs...but...this is just not the case and a mixologist should be brought in to fix things such as the basic margarita (we're lucky enough to own a cocktail lounge that was produced by world class mixologists...we understand that not everything will be that level of experience...but the other guests were noting that generally, a $24 margarita should probably taste like more than tequila and lime with a splash of coin). The other St Regis resorts we've experienced have a very polished cocktail menu that I'd put on par with proper mixology experiences, so that one threw me a bit. The rest of the dining was well executed...although we found no traditional Mexican food which was a bit of a disappointment. The Mita Mary, which appears to be renovated from the boat bar that you see on youtube, was a lovely upgrade and probably much more appropriate for the property. All in all, I believe this to be the best property on the Pacific side of Mexico, things like One & Only's and so forth that we've visited included. I'd much prefer this over the Four Seasons. The vibe feels closer to Maui than Cabo...so if you're looking for a sliding scale there...this is much more towards "grassy, semi-lush" than "all rocks and boho". The beach is relatively unswimmable, however, although we didn't find ourselves longing for ocean time as the pools were fantastic. Expensive, yes...but the room prices were worth the penny (especially since Four Seasons was 25-30% more). Some of the on-prem expenses were excessive...but...its part of the reality these days. There are plenty of all-inclusives that avoid this nonsense...the StR doesn't...so just be prepared. Our total on prem out of pocket eclipsed the room reservation itself. All in all, thank you StR Punta Mita...the staff was world class as expected!

The management staff has a horrible, dismissive attitude
Our experience at the St. Regis Punta Mita was a nightmare. The most significant issue was an injury my wife suffered due to a poorly designed step outside the Marietas hot tub. As she exited the hot tub with our two young children, her foot slipped off the unexpectedly small step, causing a severe fall. She injured her knee and, more seriously, broke her foot—an injury confirmed upon our return home. The hotel is full of steps everywhere but this one was small and hidden and very dangerous. Additionally, our room thermostat was malfunctioning from day one, swinging unpredictably between extremely hot and cold temperatures. We reported this immediately, but the staff repeatedly dismissed our concerns, insisting nothing was wrong and implying we didn’t know how thermostats work. Only after three days and escalating to the manager did they acknowledge it was broken! Ridiculous they didn't just believe us to start. Other disappointments: Food quality was mediocre other than Sea Breeze. Room service sucked. Carolina was good but not worth the price. The wine list was CRAZY expensive (only 1-2 bottles at $150, everything else higher). It wasn’t clear during booking or check-in that the main pool and the Japanese restaurant were adults-only, we were with kids. The internet connection was consistently slow and unreliable. Maybe we had an unlucky experience and I acknowledge that, but the attitude from the management staff is inexcusable.

Private Paradise ✨
I’ve always been captivated by the serene beauty of Punta de Mita, a peninsula steeped in both luxury and natural wonder. Nestled along this stunning coastline are a few resorts that truly capture the essence of this paradise, but none quite like the St. Regis Punta Mita. While there are many resorts that promise luxury, the sweeping, iconic views here set it apart—it’s a place where every glance feels like a postcard. When I visit a resort, two things I always look for are exclusivity and exceptional service. At the St. Regis, even though families, couples, and friends gather here, there’s something about the way the resort is spread across its expansive 22 acres that makes you feel as if you’re in your own private world. It’s a delicate balance they’ve mastered, and the result is nothing short of magical. The attentive staff was one of the highlights of my stay. Having a dedicated butler service was such a treat—I could simply send a text, and within minutes, my every need was taken care of. It added a layer of personal attention that made me feel completely at ease. Dining at the resort was a standout experience. With two bars and four restaurants, including the Sakana Bar and the Altamira at St. Regis Bar, there’s plenty to explore. However, Carolina and Marietas were my personal favorites. Carolina offers a more formal, intimate fine dining experience, perfect for a special evening. Marietas, on the other hand, is a casual spot by the beach—ideal for relaxing in resort wear while you take in the sunset with a delicious meal. As someone with a discerning palate, I was pleasantly surprised by how exceptional the food was across the board. Each dish felt thoughtfully prepared, and I can confidently say I didn’t encounter a single disappointment, which says a lot! One of my favorite moments was lounging in a cabana during the early afternoon. There’s something about hearing the ocean breeze, the birds, and the gentle lapping of the waves that creates an almost meditative experience. It’s hard not to feel completely at peace. For those looking for activities, the resort offers a golf club, various aquatic adventures, and even a sunset cruise—all of which can be arranged by the concierge. These were some of the highlights for me, but there’s plenty more to explore. My room was a sanctuary in itself—spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed. I especially loved the combination of the indoor and outdoor bathing options, with a terrace shower surrounded by greenery. It was such a unique touch that I found myself reluctant to leave the room! In the end, what truly sets St. Regis Punta Mita apart is its unwavering commitment to exclusivity, service, and the guest experience. From the moment you arrive, you can feel the thoughtfulness and care that goes into every detail. They’ve mastered the art of hospitality, ensuring that your time here is not only memorable but transformative. If you’re searching for a resort that offers the ultimate escape in Punta Mita, the St. Regis should be at the top of your list. I’ve lovingly coined it as Punta Mita’s “escape to exclusivity.” I’ve attached some photos that I hope give you a glimpse of what I experienced firsthand—the views, the food, and most importantly, the feeling of being in a world of your own.

Best Experience - Opposite of Karen comments you see!
I'll start off by saying this was hands down one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at. Enough for me to write a review which might be my first. My girlfriend and I are well seasoned travelers, we've been to South of France, Italy, Spain and 5 star resorts and this place blew our minds. Before coming we read reviews and were a little skeptical there were some Karens complaining and sure enough, they were being Karens! We literally don't know how people could complain about a place like this!! We stayed in a ocean view room our first 3 nights then got upgraded to a beach front villa for our last night which didn't feel like real life..... Absolutely insane. Even though the ocean view room was the lower tier room it was still AMAZING!! The service might have been the best I've ever recieved staying anywhere.... the butlers, to arrival greeting, bar tenders and servers really blew our mind. Shoutout to Susanna and Jorge our butlers who we're so attentive. Omar, Jesus and Antonio provided top notch service. It was my girlfriends Birthday and they went above and beyond to make it special!! The layout of the place was perfection. The place is very large and was sold out, but you didn't feel overwhelmed at all by the crowd. From the adult pool to other parts of the resort made it feel like you had 3 different hotels in a way. All the Karens complaining about walking .... literally took 2-3 minutes from your room to the beach. If you are that lazy you could have booked an ocean front villa from the go! We did go one night to check out four seasons and it was beautfuil, but we felt St. Regis was more our vibes. Four Seasons was more a vibe if you have 5-10 year olds and nothing against that, but St. Regis was more of an adult friendly place but also kid friendly, as there were quite a few but never felt overwhelmed like we did at Four Seasons. The food at the Adult Pool was top notch. Carolina was a great experience and great food. Room service food was excellent too. Please disregard any of the complaints you see - this place was top notch and we will be back for sure!! The money was worth it, as you had anything at the snap of your fingers. Highly Highly recommend staying here..... Enjoy your trip!! Cheers!!

Completely changed, not the same, not worth staying at
This used to be our go to place, sadly I’m not sure we will ever stay here again. Everything has changed. This property is run down despite new renovation and the level of quality of food and food service is seriously lacking. What a shame. One of our favorite places has turned into a hugely disappointing experience. Upon arriving front desk informs us that we had two reservations booked. The website was acting up and Marriot bonvoy membership wasn’t working correctly. Obviously a mistake however she decided to handle the situation by telling us “there may be a penalty for having to cancel a double booked reservation” (we made the reservation the night before at 7pm and flew two hours from CA to arrive at 10:30am.) Clearly extremely poor hospitality and etiquette to treat guests like that. Obviously management had to get involved and finally apologized and corrected it. Food quality is so disappointing as this place once had GREAT food. They have absolutely ruined it. They closed Marietas wonderful dinner completely. Mita Mary is totally changed and food was disappointing. My shrimp and steak tacos came undercooked practically raw and prices are ridiculous. Quality terrible. Pool food is YUCK and drinks SUCK!!!!! They took away the lobby bar drinks like my favorite corn tequila drink cocktail , no more tacos el pastor or churros. Those delicious craft cocktails are gone. Now it’s just a cheesy lobby ho hum bar. The grounds are severely affected by dying plants. All of the palms are dying, everywhere is orange, yellow dying plants that were once lush and green. It is completely obvious that this property is run down, completely changed into an environment that I probably wouldn’t want to visit again. The pool tiles, walkways are falling apart. So rundown and just sad to see. Especially when we could go anywhere, when Four Seasons and Auberge are close by and we never would have wanted to switch because we used to love it so much here. It’s SO SAD to write a review like this about a place like this that once was my favorite and it’s just not the same anymore. :(

Nice and relaxing but could use some improvements
The St. Regis brand is lauded for their exceptional service and while they are a top luxury brand, there were a few misses during our week long stay. The property is beautifully maintained and everyday, we saw crews trimming the hedges just right, fixing one of their many water fountains, and raking the sand. Prior to our arrival I arranged transportation to/from the airport and the directions provided were very precise. Upon entering the gate for the resort, you are ensconced with the beautiful, lush greenery of the property. The property is huge as it shares the golf course with multiple resorts within the gates to include the Four Seasons. On your first trip to the property, it is a rather long drive as they want you to take in your surroundings, however, during your stay if you leave the property, they take a shorter exit. When we arrived, we were escorted to the veranda where we were welcomed by the lovely Jessica, who went over our reservation and explained the property. We were asked if we would like the NYT and USA Today daily and we chose the paper edition of both. We were excited to have a full printed newspaper that we could enjoy during breakfast. After about 20 minutes, we were shown to our room and within 10 minutes, Jaime, our assigned butler, arrived to go over their services as well as the room. We had a huge garden view room with a partial view of the ocean that included a private balcony as well as an outdoor shower that was lovely. Having a butler was very nice because you could text them for anything. I especially liked that each day, you could get 2 items pressed per person and they will also run you a bubble bath with salts which came in handy after a full day of excursions. The only complaint we had for the rooms was that the toilet lids did not soft close and instead, slammed down and also, they have the cheap Conair hair dryers, the ones that smell like it's going to catch fire if you use it for too long. I made the mistake of leaving behind my travel hair dryer and I implore you do not leave yours behind as you will regret it. The next day we awoke to discover that the "printed paper" left in our door handle, were just photocopies of each paper and not the whole paper either, so that was a bit disappointing. When we arrived for breakfast, another disappointment was that the free breakfast was only for the buffet. Although they have a menu, it is not free if you order from it. That was shocking because one of our favorite resorts is the Waldorf in Cabo and our breakfast could be ordered from the menu and their food was gourmet and delicious! As we were headed to the pool, I did not see a beach bag in our closet and when we contacted the butler, we were told that they do not provide beach bags! But guess who does, The Waldorf in Cabo! I had several beach bags at home and left them because I assumed the St. Regis would have provided one. Seriously, for the amount of money you pay per night, that is the least they could do. They do have 3 pools on property and only 1 is for adults only which was nice. The chairs are on a first come basis, so each day, we stopped by before breakfast to claim our chairs as we did not want to get stuck with a chair without umbrellas. When you look at the menu, it states that they provide fresh, complimentary snacks daily and that was so far from the truth. Only one day, did they bring around skewers of fresh melon, which I cannot eat. The Four Seasons Wailea, brings their guests fresh snacks, ice cream and etc, about every hour while you are hanging out poolside. The only thing St. Regis provided were complimentary ice buckets filled with bottles of water which was needed and very much appreciated. During our stay, we stopped by the spa and had a wonderful couples massage from Diana and Taymi. Their guide Neidit was also very nice and helpful with the lockers. While we had a wonderful and relaxing stay, it would have been nice if they had a lounge area to hangout or something to do on property. They do have several bars you can enjoy and we did enjoy hanging out with the guys in the lobby bar. The entire staff and the drivers were top notch and very professional. Thank you Alejandro for trying to find Luna (the resort cat) for us!

Beautiful property; lackluster service
TL;DR - it's a beautiful property with stunning hard product. The service was generally awful. We booked a five night paid stay in a one bedroom suite booked through our Luxury Travel Advisor. As Marriott Ambassador members we applied Suite Night Awards and were upgraded to a one bedroom villa. The villa was stunning. A beautiful space with a stunning beach front living room, kitchen, bedroom and enormous bathroom. There was also a small 3/4 bath off the living room. Our stay began with a check in at the lobby, not in the room. Most hotels with villa level rooms perform check in activities in your suite or villa. Not here. Most hotels with villa level rooms have competent butlers. Not here. After being dropped in our room by the front desk staff, we were told that our butlers would be by shortly. Having stayed in many St Regis hotels we were excited about having our bags unpacked by our butler and looked forward to hearing more about the property. A butler did show up, but didn't enter our room, didn't offer unpacking, didn't offer more details about the property or their services (e.g. pressing service, morning coffee/tea). He just told me that our full team would be there the next day. So disappointing. Butler service continued to be disappointing - not bringing coffee/tea service as requested. Once we spoke to a manager, coffee/tea service did occur, but with one bag of tea for an entire pot of hot water (everything felt like a pull here; nothing was anticipated). Not returning messages in a timely manner (they would on average take an hour to respond). After day three I stopped using their services - although my husband did arrange airport transportation with them for our departure. On night two we were not able to sleep because the air conditioner malfunctioned and the fan loudly clanged and banged for the entire night. While they did arrive to fix it the next day, they did so without care to our belongings in the villa (going into the crawl space over our clothing in the closet without moving our belongings. Due to this "inconvenience" we were compensated with a $400 resort credit. A complete loss of a nights sleep for 1/4 of the cost of a one night stay. There were one or two restaurant servers/bartenders who were EXCELLENT. Hugo was outstanding. However all others were lackluster at best. We were sat one morning at breakfast and then moved once we went to the buffet because someone else had been sat at that table. No one offered to help with dishes moving from the buffet to the table. Coffee refills were hard to find. Beach service was inconsistent - on our first day someone brought a bucket of waters and then never returned again for orders (and there's no button or way to summon them). Silly first world problem challenges but not ones that you're looking for at a luxury resort. To be fair, housekeeping was exceptional every day, however at villa level properties, we're used to coordinating their time in the villa with our butler to ensure that they're there when we are not - no surprise that didn't happen here. It strikes me as unfortunate that a property that has an automatic 11% service charge added to the room rate has such lackluster service. Finally, typically when we stay at properties such as this there is a welcome bottle of wine, often from our Travel Advisor. There were three macaroons left as a welcome gift. Not even a bottle of water. This property did NOT feel like a luxury property in terms of service and care. We spoke with a few couples who split their time between the St Regis and the Four Seasons and they said there was no comparison in service - the Four Seasons was far better. I do wish that we would have switched properties after our first night as service did not improve despite taking the time to speak with several managers about our lackluster stay.

Close to perfect
The hotel staff is amazing. You expect great service when staying at a St Regis, but somehow the staff here went above and beyond our already high expectations. The rooms are really great, and we had two garden view rooms, so the suites must be incredible. We had a private barbeque on the beach one night, which I recommend to folks in a large party. The only negative that I can think of is that the ocean was too rough for swimming, but since the pools never felt crowded we didn't care.

Do Not Reccomend
We’ve been to this resort many times. Our most recent visit will be the last. After assuring me that the incorrect items on my bill would be removed, they were not. On top of that, we had bills from other rooms added to our folio. Had I not looked through the stack of receipts, I would have been billed. This is an unacceptable mistake. Our room was not set up correctly, despite numerous emails prior to our arrival. The girls in the kids club were significantly less friendly, forcing papers in our face and telling us we better come back and pick the kids up. Very rude. Our food orders were incorrect several times. The craft cocktails were poorly prepared. We also happened to be there during a wedding. We love weddings, but it seems like something that should be mentioned at check in? Considering much of the facility that we are restricted to using (kids pool and beach) aren’t available. Why not tell us that our experience will be impacted? I had some clothing items sent to get steamed — they never came back! Had to ask multiple times. With regards to room quality, the internet was functioning less than half of our stay. TV remote broken, scale in the bathroom broken. These details matter. It’s a shame for such a beautiful property, the deterioration we experienced is one we must share with others, we’d hate for anyone to go through what we went through.

Luxury experience 100 percent
Top Notch... Butler service at its finest, from the car service to the check in everything was 100 percent effortless. Our room was beyond beautiful and we always had the staff making sure we had everything we needed. Even though the resort was full, we felt like the only guests there. Simply the best!

Zen, sprawling luxury!
My husband and I had a wonderful 3 day weekend here! the service was excellent. It was a little over an hour from the airport to the hotel, and we took a hotel arranged car service. People who uber have to walk about 12 mins outside the airport across a small bridge (lots of people do this), but the cost of uber was way less (40$ vs. $115 for the car service). Overall, the property was quiet. The sunsets were BEYOND stunning every day! Highly recommend staying out on the beach for them and having later dinners! Room: Large, gorgeous balcony with a view, massive bathroom including indoor shower, bathtub, and outdoor shower. Good toiletries (acceptable conditioner, not the best but good), comfy bathrobes, etc. Big comfy bed, chair and desk in room, large walk in closet for luggage and clothing. We were in a normal room, but there also seemed to be 'house' rooms, with private pools, private sections of the beach, etc. Pools: There seemed to be three primary pools. One was adults only, one was a large kids pool (extremely chic and quiet for a kids pool, though we didnt travel with children so only saw it during breakfast, and an open pool on the far side of the resort. We picked the Nekkei pool because it was adults only, close to the beach, and had the best sushi menu for lunch. I think it was on the smaller side, but we felt it was quiet all day. It was well staffed with people constantly checking on us. They also had 3 sunscreen options available all over the place. Beach: REALLY pretty views everywhere, with comfortable beach chairs and umbrellas with full service at the beach. At the far side of the property from where we stayed (near the sea breeze restaurant) there was a swimming area of the beach that had gorgeous sand and was calm waters. In jan the water was cold but refreshing. Food: By far the best food we had was at the adults only pool during the day via the Sakana menu. Delicious delicious sushi, asian noodles and poke bowls. I have a gluten allergy and they were very accommodating. The room service was okay but not amazing, and we did not love the Carolina tasting menu. It was so expensive, would definitely skip it if we went back. Breakfast was good, we ordered from the menu not buffet. Drinks: As always with resorts, overpriced, especially the wine by the pool. But extensive menu and they had cool wine cups with ice inside the glass to keep your drink cool by the beach. They constantly bring you free water bottles in ice buckets. Gym: The gym facility was completely average and fine. Tons of treadmills and bikes and weight machines. It had good AC and nice locker room facilities. Not particularly special and was empty when we went. Groups: All over the property we saw groups (10 - 15 people) having private meals on the beach etc. It was not at all disruptive to my experience, but seemed quite special for those groups. I would definitely come back with friends in the future. My few 'cons' if I had to list them: - the hotel is really big, and the walk from one end to the other is long. There is a golf cart service you can use (it was quick and free), but at times we walked, and our room was on the far end of the resort - some parts of the beach are very rocky and not swimmable at all. Where we were staying and the pool we liked had this type of beach. It was really gorgeous to sit and look at, but we had to walk a ways down the sand to

A Great Stay, Just Short of Excellent
Overall, a great stay at a resort that is thoughtfully designed, upscale and well maintained. The property is beautiful and everything felt easy from walking across the property to various pools to finding eating venues. The excellent: property layout, maintenance, consistency of staff and service, and food quality. The only items that brought down the rating was lack of upgrade offered due to our Bonvoy Titanium status. The room I reserved was presented and I had to ask for an upgrade due to the status. They eventually offered an upgrade at a 50% reduction off the rack rate. We ended up in a beach front room adjoining a larger beach front room. The second negative was a constant disruption when the neighbors had food service delivered to the back patio and the servers had to walk across our patio to get there. At best, it was a distraction and at worst a minor violation while we were relaxing alone on the patio. That aside, we enjoyed ourselves and would consider going back but would not make it a priority. Strongly suggest the hotel transportation and beach front room.

Beautiful grounds with nice pools. Restaurants are good for 3 days, but then choice is limited to repeats. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The cheapest red wine on the wine list was $USD 186 for an otherwise $10 bottle. We were Very disappointed to be offered Totoaba fish for dinner - this fish is protected and critically endangered and over fishing of Totoaba has led to the disappearance of the Vaquita, an environmental disaster.

Staff is professional, limd and friendly. The rooms were OK, though not the most spacious. One big disappointment was that the fitness center was closed; instead they offered a make shift alternative in a conference room which was an extremely cramped space the size of a home gym with very limited options. Also, based on recommendations, we had very high expectations of the food at the restaurants. Marieta, the casual restaurant was OK, as it offered delicious tacos and quesedillas, but the higher end Mita was disappointing. The food quality was OK, nothing extraordinary but the portions were outrageously small.

What a magnificent location for a property! Part of the beach where they clear the rocks is amazing. The place felt totally empty. Very spacious. Excellent service. Food was overly expensive but very tasty. My favorite part was that the pools were warm so I actually wanted to stay in. Overall excellent stay.

Property is designed by an A architect. It's spacious; room design is thoughtful; staff is so, so helpful; staff responded to items that needed fixing (patio fan, safe cabinet door) in a timely manner. I'd recommend it to anyone. I love that there is a family area, although we didn't use it. Food was very good.

5-Star Experience!
I was here for 7 days. Amazing resort. Staff are extra-friendly, kind and helpful. Everything was 5-star at this place - from drinks, to food, to beach - everything. The only thing - buyer-beware the beaches in this part of the country are VERY rocky and the photos do not reflect that so if you're wanting to swim around and white sandy beaches - avoid Punta Mita.

Beautiful place. Recommend. Saw one roach in our bathroom but I understand that sometimes that’s unavoidable. St. Regis made our stay smooth. Took care of us and our fur baby. Beautiful beach day in beach front cabana, in room massage and romantic dinner that ended with a personal bonfire with smore ingredients.

This was the best hotel that I have ever stayed at. My boyfriend and I came here for to celebrate my birthday. The staff made me feel more special than I have ever felt in my life. The property was beyond beautiful. Five stars is not enough for this property. I will be back here very soon. I 20/10 recommend everyone to stay here.

Very dissapointed that the Spa was closed due to refurbishment. Expedia never mentioned this. The hotel offered us a 10 percent discount for masssages in room or on a makeshift place near the beach (looked awful) It is ridiculous to think a mere 10 percent discount will make up for the entire spa experience....The Spa is a major part of the resort for us, so this was a real let down.

This property is so due for a refresh and the current operator is doing as little as possible to maintain the grounds etc. The staff wears worn out tattered uniforms. The landscaping has weeds in and kept areas everywhere. The site says the pools are heated but they are not heated. Well the upholstered stuff has stains and very worn fabrics. The food quality is very poor.

Beautiful views, great service needs some updates!
When not in a pandemic, this is a very expensive hotel and if I would of paid full price I would have been disappointed. The property is a bit tired and needs a renovation. The pool tiles were broken and calcified and landscape lights were broken. The breakfast was mediocre. Although, Punta Mary’s on the beach was really good! With that said, the service was fantastic! The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and had an outdoor shower, nice linens. The beach is really rocky but the views are spectacular!

great beds!
I usually stay at the Four Seasons but this time went for the St. Regis. The only thing about this stay that was magnificent was the bed. They kept messing up on the service. Missed housekeeping(2 out of 3 days), wrong orders, not having a taxi ready. It’s just not what I expected. Comfy beds though.

Splendid chef at the Carolina, superb view, whale watching fabulous; check out simply terrible (we nearly got double charged for the accomodation by a rather unfriendly clerk), uneven quality of personnel (breakfast ordered at door simply did not arrive); does not meet the standard of the Four Seasons at Punta Mita.

Exceptional Staff. Room 6603 is not Exceptional.
Beautiful place. We stayed in room 6603 - the in room shower is horrible because would not get warm, and engineers came out and it was still horrible. We used the outdoor shower connected to our room without a problem. You expect a St. Regis to have a good shower, but this own really disappoints. Take bug spray with you. We would wake up with at least 6 new of bites each morning. They can actually be bed bugs but the hotel assured me they are mosquito bites. I don't know. Staff is exceptional: All staff at Mita Mary were exceptional, particularly Miguel. Waiters at Sea Breeze were so lovely - Rigoberto, Manuel (a lovely, lovely man), Guillermo, and Vanessa! Great fish tacos! Waiter at Carolina Restaurant - Juan Miguel was sooooooo lovely. Poolside staff closer to the Mita Mary were all just amazing. Don't remember names unfortunately. Overpriced hotel taxi - expect to pay about $240 roundtrip, excluding personal tip to the driver. Would we go back? We want to because of the staff is so lovely, but the room was a disappointment. We are leaning towards trying the Four Season instead, which is right next door.

The resort is beautiful. The staff were really helpful and responsive. We were very comfortable. The ocean is warm and beautiful but the beach is a bit rocky. We got a little bored with the food offerings inside the resort after a few days but we did go into Sayulita for a nice change of pace. Food in the restaurants is quite expensive.

Overpriced and disappointing experience
We felt that the hotel was extremely overpriced for an experience that was average. For similar hotels in a similar 5-star category, you can get much better facilities, food quality, and service. We left feeling disappointed.

Pros: The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you have an enjoyable experience. The food is delicious. We weren't traveling with children so it was nice to have a separate adult pool/beach which was quiet. Cons: Our first room smelled super musty and moldy from the AC unit. I woke up with a horrible headache and switched rooms. Ask for a second story suite. None of the jets worked in both hot tubs. Most of all, there were SO many birds on the beach, in the water and on the rocks in front. At times I felt like I was in a Hitchcock movie. I even got pooped on at dinner. I guess they are not there year round but I would avoid the hotel in April. I am not exaggerating when I say there were 500 - 1000.
