Charming and airy inn in great location, loved our stay there
The location was about 20 blocks or so from the colonial downtown but also close to Tlaquepaque where we wanted to spend some time. It was an easy walk to shopping and restaurants. Armando and his colleagues were very helpful, kind and charming. We had breakast and the omelette was superb. We especially enjoyed Bubba Gump, their beautiful and hospitable cat.
They have a challenge in that they serve dinner but often at short notice. We really enjoyed our dinner except for the dessert which wasn't thawed. It might help them to keep their menu simpler, like three choices of appetizer, main and dessert.

- Auf der Rechnung ist eine Trinkgeldposition der 50% des Barkonsums während des Aufenthalts entspricht. Leider ist uns das zu spät aufgefallen und konnte deswegen vor Ort nicht hinterfragt werden

Loved the location, but might try another nearby hotel next time we visit.
Great location with many good nearby restaurants, very nice staff, and the hotel and room had an authentic Mexican feel. Bed was very comfortable.
Breakfast wasn’t included in the rate, and perhaps due to exchange rate, the price was not so attractive. Bathroom could use an upgrade.

Very small and unique. Amazing staff, all were professional and friendly and helpful.
A water pump or something mechanical came on for about 5-10 minutes at about 6 and again at 7 am. Only heard it the first morning, thank fully.
Rooms are each very different. #16 had only one small window that looked out on walls. Yuk. Be sure to specify what you want/ can’t handle. I asked for a quiet room away from street noise which we got but lack of window was frustrating.
Best rooms were 13 & 14 over the courtyard area. 17,18,19 are on the street so had extra noise. 11 & 12 are on the courtyard, nice but you might hear people but breakfast opens at 8 so not super early. 20 & 21 are up stairs off the courtyard area I didn’t see them.

wunderbares Hotel, wunderbares Personal, sehr hilfreich. ich konnte sehr früh einchecken (ich hatte gefragt, ob ich die Koffer abstellen dürfte nach meinem Morgenflug) und wurde gleich mit einem Kaffee Latte begrüsst. Besser geht Ankunft nicht. ich habe mich sehr aufgehoben gefühlt!
etwas erstaunt war ich über eine Abrechnung beim Auschecken über Trinkgeld für die Mitarbeiter. Sie waren jeden Cent wert und ich zahle das auch sehr gerne! Aber ich möchte dann doch vorher darauf hingewiesen werden, dass ich nicht einfach einen Betrag auf der Rechnung vorfinde und erst auf Nachfrage erfahre, was das ist. Das ist eine unangenehme Situation für den Gast und das könnte besser gelöst werden!

Caring, wonderful staff and beautiful hotel
The staff at this hotel are some of the kindest, most caring, genuinely lovely people I've ever interacted with. They went above and beyond to make our stay special. The hotel itself is also beautiful, like staying in a grand villa, and perfectly located. We can't wait to return. The cat is also adorable.

It's an exceedingly beautiful space and very comfortable. We had a large, gorgeously decorated room that opened onto the beautiful patio. We love the staff, the breakfasts, the freshly-made margaritas in the evening. The Lebanese restaurant next door is excellent. The neighborhood is great for walking. My husband and I have stayed here twice. We highly, highly recommend it.

Charming & Comfortable in the Heart of Guadalajara
I absolutely loved my stay at Villa Ganz Boutique Hotel! Located in the vibrant Chapultepec area, the hotel is perfectly situated—safe, walkable, and surrounded by great restaurants and cafes. What makes this place even more special is its history: originally a 1930s mansion, it was beautifully renovated into what is now the first boutique hotel in all of Guadalajara. The French-inspired charm and timeless elegance can be felt throughout the property.
The staff was incredibly attentive and welcoming. We arrived early and were kindly allowed to check in ahead of time for a small fee. They even offered us coffee upon arrival—a thoughtful touch that set the tone for a warm and comfortable stay.
Our room was cozy and well-appointed, with a super comfy bed and pillows. I especially loved the French doors, which we left open to enjoy the fresh breeze. The courtyard is stunning, with a peaceful ambiance and a beautiful on-site restaurant perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring.
A couple of minor notes: the bathroom lighting was a bit dim, which made it tricky for makeup application, and the shower design caused some water to spill onto the bathroom floor.
That said, these were small inconveniences compared to the overall charm, comfort, and hospitality we experienced. Villa Ganz is a true gem—and a perfect choice for anyone visiting Guadalajara who appreciates history, style, and exceptional service.

If I coule leave 10 stars for the cleaning and service(front desk) I would. Excellent front desk and daily cleaning service. The front desk gave us helpful suggestions for local places and even made cocktails upon request. Cleaning was fast and detailed.

Elegant, inviting casa with a stellar staff
Our stay at Villa Ganz was an absolute joy! What a gift to be able to stay in one of the classic mansions of Guadalajara. From what we could tell, the renovations listed in the reviews are now complete and the hotel is elegant. Our room was large with high ceilings and a very comfortable bed/linens. Above all, the team at Villa Ganz is warm and welcoming - always responsive and helpful. If I was up early, they always asked if I needed a cup of tea. If I needed a recommendation where to go to dinner - always a great idea. The breakfast is additional but surprisingly reasonable for a hotel and served on the outdoor deck - a magical space. The location was excellent. We were able to walk to all the most interesting neighborhoods. We left behind information about our favorite walking tours - art galleries and murals. Make sure to ask the front desk. We would absolutely return!
We had no issues but keep in mind that this is a 100??? year old building. So, the occasional plumbing issue, etc. is to be expected.

Charm in a small boutique Hotel with an amazing & delightful staff.
The property is an old mansion, being refurbished presently but with no disadvantage to our stay. The value was a bonus & the hotel is charming. Outstanding is the staff. Ivan took amazing care of us and I found his warmth, enthusiasm & personality delightful. Carlos, Oscar & Daniel were equal in handling every detail where there assistance was needed. The manager, Armando is so warm, friendly and pays attention to detail. He took time to show us all the new & future upgrades that are coming.
Looking forward to our next visit where rooms will be repainted.

Villa Ganz is truly a hidden gem. An A+. I recommend you stay here - Carlos was all around amazing.
The breakfast was decent, it could have been hot. Otherwise the service was on point.
I experienced a minor delay with hot water flow and a delay in response time from the front desk. I tired to call by the number on the phone had the wrong extension.
As a nice gesture to remedy this situation, I was told my breakfast would be comped. When I was checking-out they had charged the breakfast. I told the employee about the situation and he removed the charge, I'm sure this was just an oversight. All good at the end. I loved this hotel.

The staff was amazing and very attentive, goes out of their way to help you with anything. And the room and the view is beautiful. The walking distance from a few dining areas and bars is convenient and safe, but the staff and beauty of the hotel really made it a true 5 star stay for Guadalajara.

What an amazing experience! The staff was very accommodating and kind. The property was beautiful, and it even came with a cat, which my wife loved. The location was great, with plenty of places to eat within walking distance. The area overall felt safe, and we had no issues walking around at night. We will definitely recommend this place and plan on coming back.

Massage services provided by hotel are subpar. The individuals brought In, have rudimentary knowledge pertaining to massage, They rub oil onto the body, but to not understand how to work stress out of stiff muscles. I would suggest finding highly skilled massage therapists and charging more for the services.

For $147 per night in Mexico it wasn’t worth it.
Lobby and courtyard are beautiful and recently updated. Cool water dispenser in hallway. Most of the staff was helpful. Breakfast available in courtyard.
Stairway is worn and carpet needs replacement. Room was nice but not great. Shower was not glass enclosed and water went everywhere. ‘Plastic’ toilet seat. Hair dryer with only too settings warm and scorching, cord was not long enough to allow you to style your hair.

The hotel is an enchanted place! And they are even working in making it even more beautiful.
Although the heart of this hotel is the staff, from the staff at the concierge area to everyone working there! They go far and beyond to make you feel welcome. Im a coffee drinker and they will bring me coffee to my room before breakfast started(I need coffee before the coffee).
The location is perfect, safe and very walkable.(I traveled by myself) Close to many restaurants and cafes. I even found a library 5 minutes from the hotel!
Definetly I will be back!

We had a lovely stay at Villa Ganz. All of the staff were great, and the hotel is located in a nice neighborhood.
The hotel has been renovated which wasn't reflected in photos so the hotel in reality was nicer than the pictures.

It's a great place to stay in Guadalajara!
Beautiful old mansion in the Americana neighborhood of Guadalajara. Great for walking to restaurants, bars and cafes. The garden area is really lovely, and the host Alejandro and Carlos were so very helpful.
The bathroom needs a remodel as the tub/shower is very tricky to get in and out of (room #14). One could easily slip and fall.

This was my second stay at Villa Ganz. It’s a lovely, perfectly located property in Guadalajara. The design is beautiful and the rooms and common areas are all very nice, and the staff is exceptional. I’ve greatly enjoyed my time there and highly recommend it for a stay in Guadalajara!

This is a charming boutique hotel with friendly and helpful service in an ideal location. The area is full of excellent restaurants, cafes and notable architecture, all within easy walking distance. Yet, the hotel is far enough away from the loud bars and clubs to remain quiet and peaceful. It’s a quick Uber ride to Zona Centro, which is about 2 miles east. The period Spanish building is tastefully furnished and exudes old world charm.
